The current Volunteering Strategy for South Australia is coming to an end in 2020. To continue it's success and achievement, a second Volunteering Strategy (2021-2027) is being developed.
To help shape the priorities of the second Strategy, a state-wide two stage consultation process is currently underway.

Nomination Period for SA Volunteer Awards Extended!
Due to the impact of the COVID -19 crisis, nominations for the 2020 South Australian Volunteer Awards are now open until Friday 24 April 2020.

The Community Voices Program is an innovative collaboration between the SA Government Department of Human Services and Flinders University Screen Production.
Community Voices partners not-for-profit organisations with film making students from Flinders University to produce either a five-minute documentary or a 30-second online video ad for volunteer recruitment and community education.

Opening soon! – 2019 Awards to honour our State’s outstanding volunteers
From Monday 18 March, the Office for Volunteers will be seeking nominations for the 2019 South Australian Volunteer Awards.
The Awards will be presented at a special Volunteers Day event on Monday 10 June 2019.
Nominations fall into the following categories:
• The Joy Noble Medal – South Australia’s highest distinction for an individual volunteer, which is open to all individual volunteers across the State
• The Premier’s Award for Corporate Social Responsibility – recognises the strong contribution the corporate sector makes to our communities through philanthropy, partnerships and corporate volunteering
• ‘The Andamooka’ Community Project Award – for a volunteer community project that has had a significant community benefit
Anyone can nominate eligible recipients for these awards and self-nominations are accepted.
Guidelines and online application forms will be available on the Office for Volunteers website.

Open for application! – Premier’s Certificate of Recognition for Outstanding Volunteer Service
Do your volunteers go above and beyond? Have you wondered how you can let them know they are appreciated? Why not nominate them for the 2019 Premier’s Certificate of Recognition for outstanding volunteer service?
The Premier’s Certificate provides an opportunity for volunteer-involving organisations and community groups to recognise and reward excellence and significant achievements by nominating one (or more) of their volunteers.
Nominations are now open for this prestigious recognition certificate to award at an occasion such as National Volunteer Week (20-26 May 2019), on Volunteers Day (10 June 2019), at an Annual General Meeting, or a special morning/afternoon tea.
Who can nominate: South Australian based volunteer-involving organisations and community groups
How to nominate: Guidelines and online application forms are available on the Office for Volunteers website from Monday 18 February

Does your organisation need a promotional video?
Work with Flinders University filmmaking students to produce a short video about your organisation, what you do and your community impact.
Choose either an online video advertisement (ad) or a short documentary:
• an online video ad is a 30-second video. It will help you to promote, celebrate and recruit volunteers for your organisation. It may contain high impact visuals, a storyline, music, and voiceover narration.
• a short documentary is a three to five minute video. It will showcase the work you do and the role of volunteers in your organisation. It may contain video interviews, footage of volunteers, activities, events, and voiceover narration.
About the program
Community Voices is an exciting and innovative initiative assisting community groups to promote and market themselves in the community.
The program provides a unique opportunity for community groups to partner with filmmaking students from Flinders University to produce community documentaries or online video advertisements to promote, train or recruit volunteers.
The program benefits partners with volunteer organisations gaining access to a new medium and students gaining valuable professional experience.
Who can apply: Incorporated, community based not-for-profit organisations.

Young Volunteer Scholarships
The Young Volunteer Scholarships reward young South Australians, aged 25 years or under, who volunteer their time and talents to help others in the community.
Successful applicants will receive up to $3,000 towards the cost of course fees or textbooks for courses at university, TAFE or a registered vocational college.
