This week (27 May to 3 June) we acknowledge 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 (𝗡𝗥𝗪), a time to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
NRW's theme for 2026, 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗜𝗻, is a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day.
In acknowledgement of NRW, we were joined at Payinthi by 410 students from local schools to attend two days of Kaurna Language workshops with Uncle Tamaru, with 210 students returning this week to learn traditional weaving with Nikki Carabetta.
Next Wednesday 3 June, we’re also inviting families of young children 2+ years to join us for a special Walking together with Kaurna Story Time session, which shares insights and the significance of cultural artefacts and Kaurna language learning. Book at https://bit.ly/4uHiqYv
While falling outside of the official week, later this month on Friday 26 June First Nations owned business Kaiya Superfoods will join us at Payinthi for a native food tasting and tea blending session. Book at https://bit.ly/4uDcIHg
