At 2 pm on Sunday 1 November, Solidarity is hosting the first of four sessions of a reading group on basic Marxism, based on the recently updated pamphlet ‘How Marxism Works’. The venue is upstairs at the Exeter Hotel, 246 Rundle Street, Tarntanya/⁩Adelaide city.

In today’s age of climate crisis and escalating superpower conflict, and our government backing genocide in Gaza, Marxism provides essential tools to fight the calamitous future threatened by global capitalism.

'How Marxism Works' is an accessible introduction to the basics of Marxist theory, from understanding history to economic crisis, oppression, the role of the working class, and why we need a revolution to bring about socialism.

Solidarity is proud to have been part of this win against climate criminals Santos. But Santos “remains a partner” of Adelaide Uni. We still need to fight against the ties between educational institutions and the companies destroying our world, whether through fossil fuels, weapons or info tech. Solidarity has been at the heart of the struggle fighting for Palestine, opposing the racism of One Nation and the far right and standing up for the rights of refugees. We organise tirelessly on the streets and in our unions to build rank-and-file organisation and fight for the strike action needed to win real gains for public services and on pay.
