Please help us congratulate Eden Hills Firefighter Hayley!
Hayley joined the CFS as a Cadet in 2016, and moved into the Eden Hills Brigade in 2019.
Shortly thereafter she set her sights on a career in firefighting and following a rigorous selection process was accepted as a Recruit Firefighter with the S.A Metropolitan Fire Service. It was with great pride today that we watched Hayley graduate from a challenging 16 Week Recruit Course, and we wish her all the very best for a long, happy and safe career with the MFS!

This weekend we saw two of our members become certified as HazMat Operators!

They volunteered their weekend to learn about the risks of hazardous material incidents, as well as how to combat them, and select and use the most appropriate PPE.

Well done Ronan and Nathan, you did an exceptional job over the weekend!

You may have seen us around the place tonight, as we ran through a rural training scenario.

As a brigade, we simulated an escalating rural incident, and worked through long hose lays, navigation and even access and egress to our "incident", which played out from Mountbatten Road, all the way through to Roseberry Avenue.

Crew's worked hard and did a sensational job at tackling a monster of a training exercise!

We work with many agencies, including the Metropolitan Fire Service!

We had an excellent night sitting down and talking through how we work together at call out, and getting to know each other's trucks and the equipment we both carry.

What an amazing opportunity to meet some of the other fireys we may be working with at incidents!

We are devastated to hear of the passing of previous Eden Hills firefighter Stuart Macintyre.
Though no longer an Eden Hills member on paper, Stu was and always will be a much loved part of the Eden Hills CFS family and he will be sorely missed
Our thoughts go out to all of those Stuart touched in his life.

Rest easy now mate.

Today marks an incredible occasion!

One of our members, Russell, celebrated his 70th CFS-iversary! Were so proud of you Russell, amd appreciate all of the time and dedication you have put into Eden Hills and the CFS over the years!

To celebrate another year, we gathered for our annual Christmas Show!

Part of the celebrations was announcing the recipient of the Russell Grear Firefighter of the Year Award, which is determined by the Management Committee throughout the year.

This year, Ronan's "above and beyondedness" has shone through, and he is the recipient of this prestigious award. Congratulations Ronan!

Yesterday was Volunteer's Day, and while we are proud of all our volunteers, we wanted to highlight the dedication of these four, who are current and previous captains of the brigade!

For a grand a total of 189 years of service, we have from left to right:

Our current captain Ben (2018-present), Neil (2000-2018), Malcolm (1992-2000) and Russell (1966-1974).

These champions are all active and respond to incidents - frequently together to make one incredible crew!

Last week One Tree Hill Country Fire Service came along to teach us a thing or two about crew deck firefighting!
