Unfortunately, we’re unable to respond directly to this misinformation because even we have been blocked from the Possum Park page, a page that increasingly appears unwilling to allow any view that doesn’t align with its own.
The facts from last night are very different.
Around 350 people attended the Victor Harbor and Goolwa Country Cabinet Community Forum, and there was a chair available for every member of the public. The people standing at the back, including some wearing suits, were senior public servants and departmental Chief Executives who attend Country Cabinet as part of their roles.
That is precisely the point of Country Cabinet: bringing the Premier, Ministers and senior decision-makers directly into regional communities so they can hear firsthand what local people have to say.
More than 30 questions were asked across a wide range of issues. Only one related to the Adelaide Park Lands, and the Premier’s response was met with applause from the room.
Most importantly, the forum was a tremendous success. Hundreds of people turned up, asked thoughtful and sometimes challenging questions, listened respectfully to different views and participated in exactly the kind of constructive community discussion these forums are designed to encourage.
