🏆 2026 South Australian Volunteer Awards

It is with great excitement that we share with you all that on Monday night, at Government House, Camden Community Centre’s Food & Wellbeing Outreach Program was awarded one of SA’s five most prestigious award for volunteers – ‘The Andamooka Community Project Award’

This is an incredible honour & a moment of real pride for Camden.

While the award recognises the Outreach Program, it reflects something even more important: the way all of Camden’s programs work together to make this impact possible.

From behind-the-scenes support to front-line volunteering, from daily operations to community engagement—this achievement is the result of a shared effort across the entire centre.

A special thank you to Janet, Chris & the entire Outreach Team, whose hours of dedication shows up in so many different ways every day—cooking meals, delivering food, packing food parcels, collecting donations, sorting supplies, creating connections with some of most vulnerable, isolated community members, & mentoring others.

The variety of work you take on, often quietly & consistently, is at the heart of what we are. 🩷

Thank you 🤩

Camden’s Outreach Program is expanding rapidly & we are now supporting around 500-600 locals residents across four council areas on a weekly basis! Calls for help are high & we are doing our best to keep up with demand! We are on the hunt for a couple of fabulous volunteers who could assist us with picking up bread & cakes from local bakeries & dropping to the Centre so we can get them packed up for food parcels 💥

Literally transporting from local bakery to Camden & dropping in Hall kitchen (unless you have time to pack as well & would like to, which we would be very grateful for also)🤩🚗 No stressing about committing to both days, one day would be awesome also 😎
