Wattle or Twisties??

One of Australia's most unique wattles, this is 𝘈𝘀𝘒𝘀π˜ͺ𝘒 π˜₯𝘦𝘯𝘡π˜ͺ𝘀𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘒, commonly known as Sandpaper Wattle.

This beautiful shrub is a magnet for butterflies and birds. It has distinctive sandpaper-textured foliage and striking yellow flower spikes. Native to south-western Western Australia, it thrives in full sun, well-drained soils and rewards gardeners with blooms from its very first year.

🌱 Most of us don’t realise how much we rely on plants – until they’re gone.

They feed and shelter wildlife, protect our landscapes, and help ecosystems recover after tough conditions.

Right now, we are at threat of losing 1/3 of South Australia’s native plants.

One of the ways we can protect them is by collecting and storing seeds – so they’re not lost for future generations.

It’s quiet work, but it matters.
