If Game three of the 2026 APS BBL is anything to go by, we are in for an absolute cracker of a competition. Chasing a total of 2/39 set by the Wicket Crickets, The Big Bats' team were on course for victory following a quickfire 7 from Ella, 13 from Aadi, 7 from Cohen and 3 from Marley. Some tight bowling from the 'Crickets Cooper, Asher and Kwasi put the brakes on until the 'Bats needed 3 runs from the final delivery to steal victory. The large crowd who had gathered to watch were at fever pitch as the Wicket Cricket's bowler let fly and.... took out the batter's middle stump - cue pandemonium as the 'Crickets escaped with a 2-run victory! Game four will be completed tomorrow, with The Alberton Sixers led by Leo C defending a total of 2 for 22 (insert Richie Benaud impersonation here!) from their 5 overs against Zac's Capybara Crushers.

Game 2 of the 2026 APL Big Bash saw a great match up between Vas's Wicket Strikers and Ava's Boomerang Bowlers. Batting first, the Strikers piled on some early runs through Tex (11), Declan (13) and Emmett (9) with Solly chiming in with 3 runs. Chasing 4/42, the Boomerangs started well scoring 8 off he first over before Declan bowled 6 dots in a row for the first ever APS BB maiden. Resuming their innings at first break today, The 'Rangs knew they needed quick runs and Freddy scored a rapid fire 9, adding to runs scored by Tommy (3), Hugo (3), Waleed (3) and Ava. Unfortunately for the Ava's side, they finished their innings on 4/27, handing the Strikers their first win of the season.
Game 3 is poised with Cooper's 'Wicket Crickets' making 2/39 from their 5 overs (Cooper scoring 14 and Asher 15 runs) and the Big Bats who will be returning at second break on 1/15 with 3 overs remaining.

Today the inaugural APS BIG BASH 2026 break time cricket competition got underway with the Wicket Eliminators led by Callaway faced off against Marko's Cockroach Cricketers. The 'Roaches won the bat flip and sent in the Eliminators who went on to record 6/43 from their 5 overs with Cal scoring 13 runs, Ava V making 10 and Henry L chiming in with 6. It was tense early as the 'Roaches began their run chase with Marko making 6 before being run out. It was top scorer Ewan who steadied the ship with an unbeaten 18, well supported by Patrick S who added 15 to the total. Finishing their innings on 2/49, the 'Roaches secured their first points of the Big Bash. Game 2 will be played at second break today, with two more games scheduled for tomorrow. The APS BB 2026 Podcast is coming soon!
