Celebrating Our Aspiring Leaders

On Friday, a team from Warrina Homes proudly completed the Aspiring Leaders Program, an initiative of the Aged Care Innovation Hub delivered by Top Branch Consulting.

The program brings together cross-functional and interdepartmental teams from organisations across the Aged Care sector, providing participants with the opportunity to build their leadership capability, strengthen their confidence, and tackle real-world management and leadership challenges.

It was inspiring to watch our team grow throughout the program, embracing new perspectives, collaborating with peers from across the industry, and showcasing their talent and potential along the way.

Congratulations to everyone who participated. Your commitment to learning, willingness to challenge yourselves, and dedication to personal and professional growth should be celebrated. 💛 Today we proudly recognised R U OK? Day across all of our facilities.

It is a simple question, but it can make a big difference.

Throughout the day, our teams came together to raise awareness of the importance of checking in on one another and creating safe spaces for honest conversations. Whether it's to a colleague, friend, family member, or our managers, taking the time to ask "Are you OK?" and really listen can have a lasting impact.

Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make today a meaningful reminder that looking after our wellbeing starts with connection, kindness, and support.

Let's continue the conversation beyond today and make checking in on each other part of our everyday lives. 💛

Today, we celebrate and honour all fathers, grandfathers, great-grandfathers, stepfathers, father figures, and the special men who have made a lasting difference in the lives of others.

Stepping into the World of Dementia to Deliver Better Care

Our team recently had the opportunity to participate in an immersive Virtual Reality (VR) dementia training experience, delivered in partnership with Dementia Australia.

This innovative program allowed our employees to step into the shoes of a person living with dementia, and therefore building deeper insight into the challenges, emotions and sensory changes that shape everyday experiences.

By strengthening empathy and understanding, our employees are better equipped to provide truly person-centred care that respects the dignity and individuality of every resident.

At Warrina Homes, we are committed to investing in learning experiences that elevate care and make a meaningful difference.

Today we proudly celebrate International Nurses Day and honour the incredible nurses who make a profound difference in the lives of older people every day.

Aligned with the 2026 theme, “Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives,” we recognise the skill, compassion and leadership of our nursing teams. In Aged Care, empowered nurses are essential to advocate for residents, deliver high quality clinical care, and support dignity, safety and wellbeing at every stage of life.

Today, we honour ANZAC Day and remember the service, sacrifice and resilience of all who have served our nation. We pay our respects to the veterans in our care, their families, and all who served in the past and the present.

We are pleased to celebrate the completion of the full refurbishment of the Billabong (Community Centre) at Warrina Valley Estate - a space that has been at the heart of Village life for 23 years.

This significant milestone reflects our ongoing commitment to providing contemporary, welcoming environments that support connection, wellbeing, and quality of life for our residents. The revitalised centre now offers enhanced amenities and a refreshed setting that honours its history while meeting the needs of today and tomorrow.

It has been especially rewarding to see the positive response from residents, staff, and management, who have all embraced the renewed space with enthusiasm and appreciation. Their feedback reinforces the importance of investing in the places where community truly comes to life.

This milestone also marks our third major project completion in April - a reflection of our ongoing commitment to investing in our communities and enhancing the environments where people live and work. Thank you to everyone involved in bringing this project to fruition.
