For students from regional and remote communities, the move to uni can be a significant barrier to opportunity. Myriota believes where you grow up shouldn’t determine how far your STEM career can take you - including into space technology, engineering and environmental monitoring.

📣 Global defence technology company DroneShield has officially opened its new Research and Development Hub at Lot Fourteen.

A global leader in counter-drone and electronic warfare solutions, the ASX-listed company joins more than 160 innovative organisations in our innovation district, including global tech leaders, renowned research powerhouses and defence primes.

🔬The facility will create approximately 20 specialised engineering roles focused on radio frequency electronics, electronic warfare and systems interoperability, supporting the development of cutting-edge counter-drone technologies.

DroneShield’s first dedicated R&D facility outside its headquarters builds on the strong alignment between Lot Fourteen’s defence and high-tech ecosystem and the company’s mission.

🤝 Supported by the South Australian Government’s Investment Accelerator Program, the hub will deepen the state’s expertise in emerging technologies and strengthen Australia’s sovereign defence capability.

🚀 A new home and a new chapter for Space Protocol at Lot Fourteen.

After graduating from the Stone & Chalk Startup Hub, the team has moved into the Margaret Graham Building, continuing its growth within our innovation district.

Since joining Lot Fourteen in 2024, Space Protocol has been developing technologies spanning space battle management, edge computing and quantum defence.

Now progressing a capital raise, the team is also exploring a payload launch in 2027 with ResearchSat, building on a growing collaboration between the two organisations.

🔧 ⚙️ Precision engineering specialist McMahon Micro has joined Lot Fourteen, bringing decades of expertise in reverse engineering, precision machining and prototype development.

📍 Alongside its existing facilities at South Australia's Innovation Places: Adelaide University and Tonsley Innovation District, McMahon Micro's new office places the team close to defence companies, researchers and industry partners within the district.

With more than 30 years of experience, the South Australian company has supported defence, aerospace and MedTech projects by modernising discontinued precision systems, developing complex prototypes and solving technical challenges early in the product development process.

🤝 The move to Lot Fourteen reflects McMahon Micro's focus on working more closely with defence and aerospace partners while continuing to support the development of new technologies across the sector.

📣 Applications are now open for the Defence Teaming Centre’s 2027 Defence Industry Leadership Program (DILP).

DILP is Australia’s flagship leadership program for emerging and mid-career professionals across the defence sector.

Since launching in 2010, the nine-month program has supported more than 400 graduates to strengthen their leadership capability, broaden their industry perspective and build valuable professional networks. 🎓

Participants gain practical experience through workshops, leadership coaching, industry engagement, site visits and applied project activities, while working towards a nationally recognised Diploma of Leadership and Management.

🪏Defence HQ breaks ground at Lot Fourteen. 🪏

The new 11-storey innovation centre, to be known as Defence HQ, will significantly strengthen South Australia's defence capabilities, becoming a focal point for defence, space and critical technologies while supporting the nation's AUKUS endeavours.

Defence HQ will provide a platform to accelerate defence capability, innovation, research commercialisation and business growth in South Australia.

BAE Systems Australia will establish its new South Australian headquarters within Defence HQ, alongside three major projects that will bring more than $100 million in world-class talent, capability and facilities to the state:

💡 Innovation Hub, operated by Adelaide University
🛰️ SpaceBase, the Australian Space Common User Facility

The addition of Defence HQ is expected to double the workforce population at Lot Fourteen to more than 3,000 people, further strengthening the district as a hub for collaboration between industry, research and government.

🧱 Built has been appointed as the builder, with construction expected to be completed by the end of 2028.
