What a joy it’s been to see children and families across WA embrace the Summer Reading Quest! 📚✨
Together, 161 children read for an incredible 4,307 hours, with 7,247 books enjoyed along the way. What an amazing effort from our young readers and their families!
We’ve loved hearing how the program brought extra excitement to library visits, inspired children to try fun new activities, and helped build confidence through reading and play. From side quests and chapter books to rhyming games, baking, painting and reading aloud, it’s clear the Summer Reading Quest created special moments for so many families.
A big thank you to everyone who took part and shared their wonderful feedback with us. Your stories remind us just how important libraries are in bringing our community together through learning, imagination and fun. 💛
"My daughter read nearly every day, only missed one day during the whole challenge. She really enjoyed the side quests and very proud of her own achievements. Also, she enjoys reading all sorts of chapter books and science related books. She has wide range of interests of books."
"My daughter read to her brother aloud, read to herself, and listened to audio books every day."
Albany readers did us proud, taking out THREE prize places - great work!

Got a burning technology question? Want to hear your voice or story on the airwaves? Now is your chance!
MITE, the Perth-based live online radio station that perfectly blends great music with tech info, is dedicated an upcoming weekday Q&A session entirely to the Albany community!
Every weekday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, MITE hosts a live Q&A, and they want to feature your tech questions, dilemmas, and funny anecdotes.
How to Get Involved:
We are collecting questions to send their way! You can share your tech queries with the library in two ways:
Text: Write it down and send it over.
Voice Note: Record your question so they can play your voice on air!
Bonus points: Don't forget to include your favourite song or band with your question! The MITE crew will weave your music requests straight into the program.
