North Albany Senior High School is located on the North West side of the City of Albany. Known locally as NASHS we are a comprehensive school providing secondary education from Year 8 to Year 12.The first intake of students was in 1982. North Albany SHS has built up an enviable reputation as a caring and supportive.

💚🧠 Mental Health Week at North Albany Senior High School 🧠💚

This week, our school community has been celebrating Mental Health Week with a range of activities focused on connection, kindness and wellbeing.

Wednesday's Pyjama Day was a great success, with students embracing a cosy day while the English Department hosted a special craft club. Students created friendship bracelets, contributed to an Act of Kindness Chain, and made Appreciation Awards to recognise the positive impact others have on our school community.

Throughout the week, students have also enjoyed craft activities in the Library with Ms Steed and informative wellbeing sessions presented by Zero2Hero.

While the Jogathon was cancelled due to bad weather, students enjoyed a sausage sizzle and free dress day (dress in your faction colours) with all proceeds donated to Mental Health charities.

Well done to everyone who pulled together to make sure our students feel connected and supported. 💚

💙 A Big Thank You to Our Support Staff 💙

Today we celebrated the amazing support staff who help make North Albany Senior High School such a great place for our students. Thank you to our Cleaners, Gardeners and Home Economics staff for everything you do to keep our school clean, beautiful and safe each day.

A special shout out to Louise who, as always, did an incredible job preparing the breakfast. Our Hospitality students are very lucky to be learning these valuable skills from someone so talented and passionate.

Thank you to all our support staff. We appreciate you and everything you do! 🌟

🌧️ Jogathon Postponed Due to Weather 🌧️

Due to the forecast wet weather, tomorrow's Jogathon has been postponed and will now be held on 6 November.

Students are still encouraged to wear their faction colours tomorrow, and our $2 sausage sizzle will go ahead as planned.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. We look forward to seeing everyone come together for the Jogathon on the new date! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️💛💙💚❤️

Year 7 HASS students [STEM class} have been studying ancient Egypt and Deep time Australia as part of the History curriculum. Students were asked to create a 3D model of either ancient Egypt or Deep time Australia.

Time relevant artefacts were required to be incorporated in their model. They were encouraged to work collaboratively with a family member if possible.

This activity incorporates; kinaesthetic learning, problem solving, communication & collaboration with family member, design skills, critical thinking, research skills, managing resources, creativity, models & modelling.
