🔥 From campfire chaos to clay creations. 🔥

This piece wasn’t fired in a fancy kiln.
It was baked right in the heart of a roaring log fire during Clay Day, where smoke, ash, heat all leave their mark on the clay. Every crack, dark patch and texture tells part of the story. No two pieces come out the same. Some look ancient, some look cursed in the coolest way possible, and some look like treasures dug out of a dragon’s backyard. 🐉

At Clay Day, young people can learn hand-building techniques, experiment with different firing methods, and turn lumps of clay into something completely their own. Whether you want to make mugs, monsters, masks, tiny statues or just get your hands muddy after school, there’s a spot for you around the table (and around the fire).

🚨 PUBLIC HOLIDAY 🚨

The Open Access Youth Arts Studio will be CLOSED on Monday 1st June for the public holiday.
That means the paint stays capped, the speakers go quiet, and the studio gremlins get a day off too. 🎨💀

We’ll be back creating chaos, colour and cool stuff soon.
Stay safe, eat snacks, hydrate like a houseplant and we’ll catch you back at the studio after the long weekend ✨

Tim and Tom Police Report Guys #1 - Squeak, by Kai Chen / Sky Ellison Vale 21/05/2026

🚨 CASE FILE OPEN 🚨

A suspicious squeak…
Two detectives…
One possible murder… 👀🐭

Created during 1-on-1 sessions with James, a young person has written and produced their own comedy podcast:

🎙️ Tim & Tom: Episode One – Squeak

Part detective drama, part chaotic comedy, this original audio adventure follows two investigators trying to crack a very strange case involving a mouse and a possible murder.

We love seeing young people turn ideas into full-blown creative projects, from wild concepts and storytelling to recording and production. Big props to the creator for bringing this weird and wonderful world to life 🎧✨

Give it a listen and see if YOU can solve the mystery… or at least survive the detectives.

💛 You do a lot for the people you care about. Sometimes more than people realise.

If you help support a family member or friend with things like meals, emotional support, shopping, medications, finances or day-to-day care, you might be a young carer, and you don’t have to carry it all alone. 🌅

Sara from Carers WA visits Open Access every Thursday to support young people aged 8-25 who care for someone living with disability, mental health challenges or ongoing health needs. Drop in for a chat, support, information and connection in a relaxed space where people get it.

Straight outta Boorloo/ Perth, young Inkabee is showing what happens when talent meets confidence and a mic 🎤🔥
This isn’t just music… it’s storytelling, flow, rhythm, stage presence all stitched together into something powerful. You can see the energy, the timing, the way the words hit right on beat, that’s skill being built, not luck.

Now imagine learning how to do that yourself… 👀

Every Monday at the Youth Centre, you can jump into those same skills, writing your own lyrics, finding your flow, building confidence on the mic, and turning ideas into tracks.
Run by Jackson Brown, it’s your space to experiment, create, and level up 🎶
