Today is World Cancer Day, a moment to pause, reflect, and stand together in the fight against cancer.
World Cancer Day raises awareness, encourages prevention, and mobilises action to address the global cancer epidemic.
This year’s theme, “United by Unique,” reminds us that behind every diagnosis is a person with a story, a family, and a future. It calls on us to place people at the centre of care and to listen, learn, and lead with compassion.
Today, we honour those we have lost, stand beside those currently facing cancer, and celebrate the strength and resilience of survivors. By continuing to raise awareness, supporting one another, and advocating for better care and outcomes, we move closer to a future where cancer is no longer a life-threatening disease 💜

It was fantastic to have Minister Rose Jackson in the Illawarra yesterday to discuss local housing projects, alongside Katelin McInerney MP. Thank you for taking the time to visit and engage with our community. Your commitment to understanding the needs of our region is truly appreciated.
The NSW Government continues to prioritise housing through a range of key policies, including:
• Increasing housing supply and meeting ambitious targets
• Streamlining planning and approval processes
• Supporting low and mid‑rise housing to encourage greater diversity
• Promoting transport‑oriented and well‑located housing options
These initiatives are vital to ensuring the Illawarra grows sustainably and remains a great place to live.
