Perfect one day, spring storms the next! ☀️➡️⛈️
Despite the sunny calm weather we’ve had across South Australia today, we are encouraging the public to prepare for heavy rainfall and gusty winds forecast for large parts of the state tomorrow and over the weekend.

Time to prepare:

🔸Secure or put away loose items around your property.

DID YOU KNOW? Our workload increases each year pre-fire season with a number of out of control burnoffs?

You can prevent our volunteers attending your burnoff unnecessarily by making sure you:

- notify your neighbours of your intention to burn (give them time to put their washing away!!)
- ensure your burn is cleared from other flammable materials around and above
- are appropriately dressed to combat a fire
- have appropriate water and portable extinguishers at hand(not just a short length of hose)
- never leave your fire unattended - pack a lunch, or call a friend to come and help
- can dial 000 should you need assistance
- abide by the SACFS Code of Practice for Vegetation Pile Burning locate on this page:

🦘 Preparoo is here!
Living in the Adelaide Hills means living with bushfire risk. We all know we should be prepared — but knowing where to start can sometimes feel overwhelming.

That's why the Bridgewater & Aldgate Community Support Hub has created Preparoo.

Preparoo is a free community challenge that makes bushfire preparedness simple. It starts on 28 September.

For four weeks, we'll send you one small, practical challenge each week to help you and your household get better prepared for bushfire season.

No long checklists. No need to do everything at once.

Just one step at a time.

And you're not doing it alone. Over the next weeks, you'll hear from some familiar faces from around our community who are taking part too.

Prepare for bushfires. One step at a time.

Today is the last day of the original Alert SA bushfires-only app – it will stop operating tonight.

The current multi-hazard Alert SA app continues to operate and remains South Australia's trusted source of emergency services public information and warnings.

You can also view incidents and warnings at www.alert.sa.gov.au.

Please share this reminder with friends and family who may still be using the older, bushfires-only app.
