"AFTER THAT LAST SHOWER, NO RAIN APPEARS ON THE RADAR MAPS... FOR HOURS!" - Run Director, John Marketis.

FAMOUS LAST WORDS!

A torrential rain/hail downpour that started at about 7.30 greeted the setup. After checking the rain radar animations of 2 (that's TWO) weather apps - BOM and AccuWeather, both of which showed no rain likely within 4 hours - he confidently announced it to the crowd of 63 runners, joggers, and walkers.

He came to rue those words about halfway through the event when a reasonably light shower arrived... which - apparently - was heavier out on the course that at the Start/Finish line. John knew he would cop some flak as the finishers started to arrive... and cop it he did - justifiably so!

In the future, John has promised to stick to fixing computers & hosting Pub Quizzes. He will leave meteorological prognostications to those who are paid to be wrong!

Amongst this week's throng:

ABSOLUTE FIRST TIMERS:
Charlotte Carmichael joined the Happy Band of parkrunners!
WELCOME, CHARLOTTE!

Nine others were first-time visitors to our usually!) beautiful course!
Visitors who declared themselves as such came from Campbelltown, SA.

This weekend, Darren Wood will become the first person ever to join the 1,000 walk/run milestone club 💛

That’s 5,000k covered over 22 years, a milestone that would still take around 19 years to achieve even with perfect attendance every Saturday 🤯
