Okay, Alexandra Hills State High School…last night’s Night of Dance was NEXT LEVEL! Who knew our big school neighbours had moves like THAT?! 🤯

And to our very own Alex Hills Primary alumni — Paige, Cari, Hannah, Immi and Bellamia — WOW! Watching you absolutely own that stage made us so proud! ❤️

Now we’re counting down to Friday 23 October, when some of these incredible dance ensembles will be performing for our little school!

Big school talent. Little school so proud. 🤩👏

📚 Learning to read is life-changing. And at Alexandra Hills, we take that responsibility seriously.

Today, Mrs Griffiths and Ms Farrell attended Queensland’s Reading Symposium, learning alongside some of Australia’s leading experts in reading research and instruction.

At Alexandra Hills, our approach to reading is evidence-informed, explicit and carefully sequenced. From building strong foundations in phonics and word reading, to developing vocabulary, background knowledge and deep language comprehension, our goal is simple: to give every child the knowledge and skills they need to become a successful reader.

We continue to invest in the learning of our staff so that the teaching happening in our classrooms reflects the strongest current evidence about how children learn to read.

❤️💙 Every day. Every classroom. Every child 💙❤️
