After a record turn out at the DASA AGM on Friday last week, the DASA Board and Executive spent Saturday revising and updating our Strategic Plan. After losing our primary treatment facility Aranda House in the flooding disaster in February, we have had to do a lot of innovative thinking, adapting and advocacy to make sure we can continue to provide services to anyone needing support with alcohol or other drug use in Central Australia. Despite the challenges, our doors are still open to anyone who needs us. Enormous thanks to our dedicated, resourceful and talented volunteer board who have adjusted the course and reset the direction: Daniel Ward (Chairperson), Allan Murphy (Vice Chair), Lukas Blom (Company Secretary), Matt Stevenson, Dy Kelaart, JP Glavimans, Jordan Lockerbie & Aamir Tanweer.

🗣 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

🗣 Experience working within community services, health, alcohol and other drugs, mental health or related sectors
🗣 Ability to engage with clients from diverse backgrounds
🗣 Current Driver's Licence
🗣 Relevant qualifications (or working towards) in Community Services, Social Work or a related field desirable

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Minister Steve Edgington MLA for taking the time to visit and meet with our CEO Eloise yesterday.
We greatly appreciated the opportunity to share our future visions and discuss the critical needs of our clients and residents. Your willingness to listen, engage in meaningful conversation, and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges to our organisation is truly valued.

It was terrific catching up with Chief Executive Officer Eloise Cole in Alice Springs this afternoon.

DASA Alice Springs offers a range of services to provide rehabilitation from use or dependency on alcohol and other drugs, and education to the Alice Springs and the Central Australia community.

It was interesting to hear about DASA’s proposal to redevelop its Schwarz Crescent site to consolidate services at a single location, improving service integration, efficiency and long-term sustainability.

Thank you to Eloise and the entire DASA team working on the frontline helping to reduce alcohol and drug addiction.
