MHACA delivered in Tennant Creek.
10 people attended the safeYARN Su***de Prevention Training in Tennant Creek MHACA delivered on Wednesday 20 May.
This was the first of a series of training sessions planned for Tennant Creek as MHACA looks forward to continuing its support for the local community and advocating for improved mental health services across the Barkly region.

headspace Alice Springs is hosting Parent and Carer Information Sessions throughout 2026.
These free sessions are designed to support parents, carers, and community members to better understand and support young people through a range of important topics including screen time and brain development, emotional wellbeing, neurodiversity, alcohol and other drugs, gender diversity and youth mental health.
Delivered by experienced clinicians, specialists, and educators, the sessions provide practical information, guidance and a space to learn and connect with others in the community.
Sessions are held at headspace Mparntwe (Alice Springs) and online via Zoom.

This week is Schizophrenia Awareness Week 🧡
TODAY, MHACA is hosting a health promotion stall with information and resources about schizophrenia — come and have a chat with us.
Schizophrenia is a common mental health condition that can affect a person’s thinking, perceptions, and behaviour.
MHACA supports people experiencing a range of mental health challenges, including schizophrenia. Our Hearing Voices Group is a safe, understanding weekly support group for people who hear voices or experience intrusive thoughts. The group explores various support strategies and provides a safe space for participants to discuss their experiences.
It is possible to live a full and meaningful life while living with schizophrenia. If you are experiencing mental health challenges and would like to join group activities or receive individual support, contact us at [email protected] or call 8950 4600.

MHACA is seeking a Mental Health Recovery Worker (male identified)
Do you have a passion for supporting people in our community?
Mental Health Recovery Workers provide non-clinical supports to people living with mental health challenges and psychosocial disability. Recovery Workers provide participant-centred supports and assist participants in setting goals and actions as part of a Stay Strong Recovery Plan. The goals are individual to the person but may include things like developing or rediscovering social and living skills, access to training and employment opportunities and participation within the community through engagement in activities. The supports can be provided at MHACA, at the participants home or in the community. This position will be supporting male participants, including Aboriginal men, and as such is male identified to provide culturally responsive supports.
We are looking for someone who has case management or support work experience who can work with flexibly in a dynamic organisation. An ability to easily develop rapport with people from a range of backgrounds is essential.

SALARY LEVEL: $88,970.98 – $95,736.61 (MHACA EBA/SCHADS Level 4) + 12% super
POSITION HOURS: 38 hours a week. Full-time and ongoing.
