Monday Night Training
Last night we had three members work on their Doning and Doffing of CABA gear.
Working on gear familiarisation, trouble shooting and gear maintenance.
AWRFB is committed to assisting community. Meetings 1st Monday monthly 7pm. Training each Wed 6.30.

Today, 31 March 2026, marks the end of the Bush Fire Danger Period (BFDP) for the Far North Coast.
While fire permits are no longer required, you are still required to notify the RFS and your neighbours of your intention to burn at least 24 hours before lighting the fire.
Notification to the RFS can be made online at www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/notify or via phone on (02) 6671 5500

Training has recently changed to Monday night for us at Alstonville RFS
Tonight training was focused on our current soon to be AF members completing their Crew Awareness And Safety unit.
Our drills included:
Potential hazards at an incident.
Property protection.
Managing a crew.
Basic skills.
Hose deployment.

Happy International Women’s day! From Alstonville Wollongbar Brigade.
We wouldn’t know what to do without you all!

Happy International Women’s Day to our 304 female members in Northern Rivers! Over 25% of our members in the Zone are female, working in a range of roles from firefighters to Catering, Communications, Aviation and leadership.
The Northern Exercise around the corner again!
During the last Northern Exercise 2024 we had 6 members attend (2 bf members supported by senior deputy captain, deputy captain and an Af member) a weekend full of lots of learning, skill building and fun!
This year we are proud to announce we have 4 members attending.
Our new two BF members supported by our senior deputy captain and our deputy captain.

Weekly brigade training:
Tonight our members were working on truck familiarisation and pumping focusing on water suppy and demand.
Using our high pressure portable pump to draught from the bank of Howards Grass and deliver water to our Cat 1.
