Free to join, this is a multi-state campaign designed to encourage adult readers to develop long-lasting reading habits by tracking the days they read during Winter - there are also prizes to be won!

Join us for a special movie screening to acknowledge National Reconcilliation Week.
'In my blood it runs' is a heartfelt documentary following a bright 10-year-old Arrernte/Garrwa boy, Dujuan, as he navigates the chasm between his traditional upbringing and the challenges of the Australian state education system in Alice Springs.
National Reconciliation Week runs from 27 May to 3 June every year. These dates commemorate two significant milestones in the reconciliation journey β the successful 1967 referendum, and the High Court Mabo decision respectively.

Join us for a community-led panel, where local LGBTIQA+ community members and experts will share and discuss practical ideas for strengthening wellbeing and social connection in Hobsons Bay. There is an option for you to submit your own questions on the registration form.
Joining us on the panel are:
- Chris Cheers (he/him), a psychologist, author and educator.
- Jeremy Oliver (he/they) is the Victoria Police LGBTIQA+ Community Portfolio Manager.
- Brodie McCormack (they/them) is an allied health professional and educator working in public health in the West.
- Jacqueline Roy (she/her), a dedicated osteopath with a strong foundation in movement and coaching.

π Donate unused rolls of fabric, knitting needles, or other craft supplies to the library and help support creativity in our community! β
Donated supplies will be used for programming at the Altona Meadows Makerspace and at Louis Joel Arts & Community. This initiative is being run to celebrate World Environment Day and aims to promote sustainable reuse and recycling of craft materials.
Here's what we're looking for:
- Rolls of cotton fabric (between 1-5m)
- Rolls of canvas (between 1-5m)
- Knitting needles (no singular needles, only pairs)
- Crochet needles
- Sewing thread (must be more than half remaining on spool)
- Yarn (unused)
- Buttons
- Velcro tape (unused)
- Zippers (unused)
- Iron-on patches
- Paint brushes (unused)
- Craft wire
- Mosaic tiles (new)
- Ceramics tools (unused)
- Coloured pencils, markers and/or crayons (neatly bundled or unopened)
- Cardstock and craft paper (unused)
Craft donations can be dropped off at any Hobsons Bay library branches during opening hours until Sunday 7 June.
