Today, our students and staff came together in blue to support Do It For Dolly Day and help spread an important message — kindness matters 💙
Many young people who experience bullying never tell anyone what they are going through. A kind word, including someone in a game, checking in on a friend or simply showing respect can make a bigger difference than we realise.
As part of our PBL focus, “Kind Words Make Kind Hearts”, classes have been exploring what kindness looks like at school, online and in our community.
Families can support this message at home by encouraging open conversations, modelling kindness and reminding children that speaking up and supporting others is always important.

🦋Fact:
Kindness from peers is one of the strongest ways to prevent bullying.
Our community:
Students have more power than they think. A kind word, a smile, or including someone can completely change someone’s day.

This term, Year 4 have been investigating materials and their different properties in Science.
This week, students tested the absorbency of different materials to discover which absorbed the most water and which were more waterproof. They made predictions, recorded observations and worked together brilliantly throughout the investigation.

Fact:
Students who feel connected at school are less likely to be involved in bullying.
Our community:
One of the strengths of a small school is that we know each other and look out for each other.
👉 When students feel included, supported and valued, they’re more likely to show those same behaviours to others.

🦋Do It For Dolly Fact:
Bullying can have long-term impacts on mental health and school engagement.
Our community:
At Aramac SS, we know even “small” moments can have a big impact. A comment, a joke, or being left out can stay with someone longer than we realise.
👉 This is why we focus on kind words and respectful behaviour every day—because what we say matters.
