Ripon Labor
The Australian Labor Party is actively involved throughout the Ripon electorate.
We are represented by two dynamic Upper House MPs in Jaala Pulford and Gayle Tierney as well as a band of volunteers. There are four ALP branches in Ripon - Ararat, Creswick-Clunes, Maryborough and Stawell.

Moments ago, my Liberal opponent and the current Member for Ripon, Louise Staley, conceded the election.
I thank her for her service to our community over the last eight years.
It is with pride that I can now say I will be the next Member for Ripon in the Victorian Parliament.
To the voters of Ripon, I am humbled by your support.
I understand the job you’ve given me and I will not let you down.
I am incredibly grateful to my campaign team and the local true believers who worked so hard, and have waited a long time to turn Ripon red.
We did it.
Together we achieved a result many thought we couldn’t.
We ran a people-powered campaign with a strong message of what a Labor Government can do for our community.
I won’t waste a minute.
We will get straight to work on delivering key promises, including making V/Line fares equal with metro Melbourne, reestablishing the State Electricity Commission to reduce power bills, upgrading sporting facilities, and building brand-new childcare centres.
I will always fight for my community.
It will be the honour of my life to represent Ripon in the Victorian Parliament and do what matters for our region.
It will take some time to get my office established, but in the meantime I am still contactable at [email protected].

This is a big one for catching cancer earlier in our community.
Today we announced that a re-elected State Labor Government will invest $44 million to deliver eight new PET scanners across Victoria - including one right here at Grampians Health Ballarat.
This will mean people across our region will be able to access diagnostic care closer to home and at no cost.
Currently, patients have to wait longer or travel further to receive the necessary PET scans that detect the spread of cancers, diagnose heart disease, brain disorders and other conditions.
Labor is already delivering an over half a billion dollar redevelopment of the Ballarat Base Hospital.
And now we will deliver even more life-saving equipment too.

Jaala Pulford MP and I are both Central Goldfields girls.
We grew up around mineshafts, pine forests, gum trees, gullies, and old bank buildings.
We’ve known the beauty of our region our whole lives.
That’s why it was so special for Jaala to announce today that the State Labor Government is backing in the World Heritage listing bid for the Central Victorian Goldfields with $500,000.
The listing will boost our local economies, secure our precious heritage, and bring more tourism to our communities.
13 local councils and hundreds of people have worked on this project to date.
I’m proud to see it one step closer.

Statement From Jaala Pulford | Premier of Victoria After what has been the most rewarding journey in politics, I’ve advised the Premier of my decision not to recontest the 2022 state election. Around the time of the 2006 Commonwealth Games my family was driving through Melbourne. My husband Jeff pointed out a big building and said: “hey kids, Mu...

What amazing news!
Dunolly netballers will soon have two brand-new netball courts thanks to $727,707 from Labor’s Local Sports Infrastructure Fund.
The project includes new drainage, shelters, and more.
This is the first step in getting new facilities for the Deledio Reserve Park Pavilion that will benefit the whole community for decades to come.
I’m committed to working with the Dunolly community to make sure their dreams become a reality with a new pavilion and reserve into the future.

Labor has delivered so much for Ararat - from extra train services, a new fire station, school, kinder, and hospital upgrades, and even saving the local pool.
Now we’re going to build a brand-new playground in the heart of town!
The new Alexandra Gardens Playground has been funded through the Living Local Regional Fund.
It will be for all abilities, with infant play equipment too - so that kids of all ages and abilities can have fun. 🤗
