What an absolutely lovely outing for our Japanese Club! The group enjoyed a relaxing visit to the Currumbin Ecovillage Café, surrounded by the peaceful beauty of nature.

Everyone shared delicious food, warm conversations and plenty of laughter in great company. It was a wonderful opportunity to slow down, connect with friends and enjoy special moments together in a welcoming setting.

October is Queensland Seniors Month, a time to celebrate older Queenslanders and their ongoing contributions to our communities.

Our seniors are the reason we continue to work, listen and find better ways to support them through culturally responsive services tailored to their individual needs.

Our purpose is to help every senior feel valued, understood and at home, honouring their stories, cultures and community connections. We support participants and their families throughout the aged care journey, making it easier to navigate.

This Queensland Seniors Month, and every month, we celebrate the people, experiences and wisdom that enrich our communities.

Our Wellness Centre participants enjoyed a fantastic outing to see Brit Beat Mania at Twin Towns, a lively celebration of the sounds of the ’60s and the British Invasion. 🎶

The stage came alive with timeless classics from The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Cliff Richard, Herman’s Hermits and more. From familiar melodies to energetic performances, the show brought back special memories and had our seniors smiling, singing along and enjoying every moment.

At Cura Aged Care, we understand that every person carries a unique story shaped by courage, love and family. This month, we honour those who have faced breast cancer, remember those we have lost, and stand beside families, carers and loved ones with compassion, dignity and care.

Breast awareness matters at every age. Get to know what is normal for you, attend recommended screenings and speak with your healthcare professional if you notice any changes.

Together, we can raise awareness, encourage early detection and support one another with care and compassion. 💗

Some moments remind us just how beautiful it is to simply celebrate life. Our Friday group came together to wish Wenhui Li a very Happy Birthday, sharing lots of smiles, laughter and fun 🥳

At Cura Wellness Centre, birthdays are about so much more than cake and candles. They are a chance to pause, be present and appreciate the people around us.

One of the things we cherish most about our groups is their beautiful cultural diversity. We may come from different places and speak different languages, but smiles, kindness, and big hugs have a language of their own.

We had a beautiful time celebrating Respect for the Aged Day, known in Japan as Keirō no Hi. The joy and togetherness at our Wellness Centre gave our seniors a special opportunity to feel recognised, celebrated and appreciated.

In Japan, this public holiday is dedicated to honouring older people, celebrating their wisdom, life experience and contributions to families and society. It is a meaningful reminder of the importance of showing gratitude, care and respect to the seniors who have helped shape our communities.

This celebration reflects our multicultural approach to care. We value the diverse cultures, traditions and stories of our seniors, and we believe that recognising important cultural celebrations helps create a stronger sense of belonging, connection and respect.

Designed for seniors aged 65 and over, this club offers a wonderful opportunity to connect and enjoy fun activities, including Mahjong, karaoke and art.
