In Australia, Australian National Flag Day is celebrated on 3 September. It commemorates the day in 1901 on which the Australian National Flag was first flown. On that day Prime Minister Edmund Barton announced the winners of a competition to design a flag for Australia. A large flag, 5.5 by 11 metres (18 by 36 ft), was flown over the dome of the Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne.

HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY!
People need to know the history..
Mabo agreed that Australia was "settled" not "invaded: so they could have land rights.
When people say it was Invasion Day that would mean they were conquered and the aborigines had no land rights.
Do people not understand that?? This was a legal case many years ago..
If those who are unaware of the past, this is what will happen. You want the name to be changed and the day changed? Go ahead.
It would mean all land rights and everything would be taken back.
Look up the Mabo agreement..
