It was a BIG weekend for Council-sponsored events across the Tablelands, including the Torimba Festival, Tablelands Folk Festival and Atherton Clay Target Club's Annual Carnival.

👑🌸 A special visit to Radcare! 🌸👑

A big thank you to Tablelands Regional Council Mayor Kevin Cardew for taking time out of his busy schedule, particularly so early in his new role, to visit our Radcare office on Saturday and help judge our wonderful Torimba Queen entrants! 💕

It was a pleasure to chat with Kevin and hear firsthand his passion for representing the Tablelands and the communities that make our region so special. 🌿🤝

Kevin was very impressed with how confidently and thoughtfully each of the girls spoke, and we couldn’t be prouder to have such wonderful young representatives right here in Ravenshoe! 🌷✨

Thank you, Kevin, for your time and genuine interest in our community, and congratulations to all our entrants. You’ve done Ravenshoe proud! 🥰👑

🌟 A very special congratulations to Tara Bevan, who went on to be crowned Torimba Queen 2026 later that evening! What a wonderful achievement! 🎉💕

27/10/2026

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will conduct a planned burn adjacent to Herberton Range State Forest between Wednesday 28 October to Friday 30 October, weather permitting.

As a result of the planned burn, smoke may be seen in nearby areas surrounding Atherton and Tolga.

If visiting Herberton Range State Forest, observe all signs, barriers, and directions from QPWS Rangers and never enter closed areas.

Residents, particularly those with respiratory conditions, should take precautions such as closing windows and doors and keeping medications close by.

What you should do:
✅ Stay indoors and close windows and doors if smoke is affecting your area
✅ Keep respiratory medications readily available
✅ Avoid driving through smoke where possible
✅ Watch for firefighters and emergency vehicles working in the area
✅ Do not fly drones near the burn area, as they can disrupt aerial firefighting operations.

If you believe there is an emergency, call 000 immediately.
