The soccer season has ended, and all their efforts have been recognised.
Players, coaches, parents, committee members, volunteers and more.

Today the Youth Officer and Multicultural Officer from the Auburn Police Area Command, attend the Auburn FC Awards day. Lots of awards were presented to many players for their dedication to training this season. Many achievements were also recognised on the day, for both emerging players and volunteers and other representatives of the club.

Flashback From 1912 to the Modern Era!

Today we are taking a trip down memory lane to look back at the rich history of policing in our local community. Who remembers the old Auburn Police Station?

For nearly a century, our home base was located at 45 Rawson Street, right on the corner of Rawson Road and Station Road, Auburn. Serving the community from the early 1900s all the way through the

1990s, that historic brick station was packed with memories. It featured traditional holding cells, a bustling courtyard, and a large car park filled with demountable sections for our dedicated Detectives.

But did you know there was a major middle chapter in our journey? Before moving into our current home, Auburn Police actually operated from the Flemington Markets area for a significant period!

The bustling markets served as a vital operational hub for our officers, keeping our teams active and connected to the community during a time of immense local growth.

A brand-new chapter officially began when our current, state-of-the-art Auburn Police Station opened its doors on the corner of Queen Street and Susan Street in the year 2000. This purpose-built

facility has allowed our team of general duties officers, highway patrol, detectives, and crime prevention units to better adapt to the growing needs of our diverse area.

Whether you remember the vintage charm of the Rawson Street site, the busy days operating out of Flemington Markets, or only know our current home on Queen Street, our commitment to keeping Auburn safe and secure remains exactly the same.

Lighting the Flame of Hope!

Our officers from Auburn Police Ara Command were incredibly proud to support the Law Enforcement Torch Run (NSW) for Special Olympics as it made its way through Sydney Olympic Park!

It was an absolute honour to run side-by-side with these inspiring Special Olympics athletes as the Flame of Hope travels towards Melbourne for the upcoming National Games.

A major highlight of the ceremony occurred when NSW Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon officially received the torch and joined forces with star athlete Kevin Greig to light the iconic Sydney 2000 Olympic Cauldron.

Events like these remind us of the incredible power of inclusion, sport, and community spirit. Thank you to all the athletes, supporters, and emergency services personnel who made this

unforgettable day possible. Best of luck to all the athletes competing!

Connecting with our future leaders!

Our officers from the Auburn Police Area Command had a fantastic time visiting the Cumberland Council Men's Shed in Regents Park for a very special community safety session with local children!

We had the privilege of speaking with the kids about the importance of personal safety, identifying safe places in the community, and what to do during a "stranger danger" situation. It was

great to see everyone listening so intently and asking such brilliant, thoughtful questions!

Of course, the absolute highlight of the day was letting the kids get up close and personal with a real police car!

From sitting in the driver's seat to posing for some awesome photos, we think we might have quite a few future police officers in the making.

📣Since 21st August 2026, new e-bike seizure laws have come into effect.

Since 21st August 2026, new e-bike seizure laws have come into effect.

Not all e-bikes sold in Australian shops or through online retailers are legal for road use. E-bikes that operate at higher speeds, have high-powered motors (even if restricted by software), or do not require pedalling cannot be used in public places.

Use of these non compliant e-bikes can attract significant penalties and may be seized by police and authorised officers. Any e-bike that has a throttle cannot exceed 6kph without being pedalled and all power assistance must cut out at 25kph. Currently, the maximum legal power output for an e-bike used in a public place in NSW is 500 watts. However after the 1 March 2029 this will be reduced to 250 watts.

Apart from ensuring that your e-bike is legal, e-bike riders must follow the same road rules that apply to regular bicycles. This includes wearing a helmet, not carrying more passengers than the bike is designed for, and complying with footpath riding rules. If you are 16 years of age or older and are not supervising a child under 16 years of age who is riding a bicycle, you cannot ride on the footpath.

Non-compliant e-bikes present a significant safety risk, to the rider and other people present. Remember, if you ride a non compliant e-bike in a public place it can be seized and destroyed.

COMMUNITY ALERT – MAIL & PARCEL THEFT

Auburn Police Area Command is reminding residents to remain vigilant following an increase in mail and parcel thefts from residential buildings. With the holiday period approaching, this trend is expected to continue.

Help protect your deliveries:

Collect parcels as soon as possible after delivery.
Use parcel lockers or secure collection points where available.
Ensure foyer and building access remains secure.
Consider delivery when someone is home.

If your parcel is stolen, report it to police promptly. Early reporting can assist investigations and help preserve CCTV evidence.

There was great weather and a great community turnout at the Cumberland Council Safety Expo at Auburn Botanic Gardens this week.

Lots of people turned up to meet workers from local services keeping the community safe, especially the Police.

Several Police units were in attendance including the local officers from the Auburn Police Area Command, Youth Command, Highway Patrol, Dog and Mounted Unit as well as Fingerprint Officers.
Other services such as NSW Fire and Rescue, SES, Services NSW and many more came along as well.

Police held fitness practise for future junior Police recruits, a demonstration from drug detection dog, “Casper”; our equine friends, “Don” and “Canobi” were well fed by the children and their was an opportunity to help Fingerprint Officers explore the identity of possible offenders.

Constable Charlie even made a special appearance.

Overall, the event was well supported by everyone.
