People with disability are being “consulted” after decisions are already made.
That’s not co-design.
We’ve been clear:
âś” Bring people in early
âś” Listen to lived expertise and experience
âś” Let the community shape decisions
The NDIS was built on the voices of people with disability.
We’re calling for people with disability to be involved from the start.

More voices are coming through in the 2026 Voice of Queenslanders with Disability Survey this week.
We're seeing a strong increase in responses, especially from:
• younger people aged 18 - 39
• people working in disability organisations.
We would welcome more voices from:
• people with intellectual disability
• people aged over 60
• First Nations people
• people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities
• people living in regional and remote Queensland.
Please share this post with others in your network so we can hear from as many Queenslanders as possible. The survey closes in 5 weeks on 17 April 2026.
***Fill in the survey here https://qdn.org.au/voq-2026/
The VoQ survey is the only consistent, statewide lived experience survey of people with disability. Findings are shared publicly and used by government, service providers and sector leaders to inform decision making and track change over time.
Accessible formats, translations and support to complete the survey are available. If you need help completing it, please contact [email protected] or call QDN on 1300 363 783.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and help shape decisions across Queensland.
