🚫🔥🚫TOTAL FIRE BAN TOMORROW 🚫🔥🚫 - Monday 12 October 2026.

The Hunter Valley area including Muswellbrook and Singleton LGA’s will have a HIGH Fire Danger Rating.

🚫A TOTAL FIRE BAN means no fires out in the open.🚫

A total fire ban helps limit the potential of fires developing.

During a Total Fire Ban you cannot light, maintain or use a fire in the open, or to carry out any activity in the open that causes, or is likely to cause, a fire.

General purpose hot works (such as welding, grinding or gas cutting or any activity that produces a spark or flame) are not to be done in the open.

The NSW RFS strongly recommends you reconsider activities such as using a tractor or slashing, to help reduce the chance of a fire starting on your property.

Total fire ban tomorrow.

A Total Fire Ban will be in place tomorrow, Monday 21st September for the Greater Hunter with Extreme fire danger forecast across area. Warm, dry and windy conditions are forecast across parts of the state, increasing the fire danger.

Take action now. Know your fire risk and what you will do if fire threatens. Report all unattended fires to Triple Zero (000).

Urgent: Bylong Valley Way is closed in both directions between Baerami Creek Rd and Mt Dangar Rd due to an accident.

Update @17:10: Road remains closed however police have cleared the backlog and are slowly letting traffic through.

Update @17:55: Road remains blocked however traffic is being directed around the scene and getting through.

Update @18:40: Road still blocked but traffic getting through. Estimated 90 minutes for tow trucks to clear the road.

Road reopened at 20:10. Job done.

On Sunday we hosted our third Get Ready Weekend at Baerami RFB, as well as celebrating our Brigades 50th Birthday 🎉
We had a number of locals call in, as well as some passing through from further afield. All who attended took away some useful information and enjoyed some yummy food.
A massive thank you to Besom Mobile Cafe for providing the coffee ☕️, Mark Hopkins for providing the meat for the BBQ, Martindale Rural Fire Brigade NSW for bringing their two vehicles and crew, HV Community Engagement Team and Hunter Valley Communications Brigade for your assistance!
