Sharing some final artworks by our Year 9 Gifted & Talented Visual Arts students 🎨
For this project, students drew inspiration from Georgia O'Keeffe, working with oil paints to explore blending and tonal contrast for smooth, refined forms on canvas.
They built their skills step by step, starting with colour theory and mixing exercises, smaller studies, and underpainting practice before moving onto their major works. Compositions were sketched onto canvas using the grid method, followed by the painstaking process of underpainting and layering to bring each piece to life.
Some seriously talented painters in this group!

Congratulations to Bell Goodridge, winner of the Youth Artist Award at the 2026 Wanneroo Art Awards! 🎨
Bell took out the prize for her stunning ATAR artwork, B, beating out a talented field of artists aged 16 to 21. The win comes with $1000 in prize money, a fitting reward for the 70+ hours Bell poured into the piece during her Semester 2 ATAR work last year.
This isn't Bell's first major recognition either. Her 2025 Semester 1 animation, Pnut, took out the digital works prize at Outside the Frame last year, making her body of work in 2025 a true standout. Based on what we've seen so far, this year is shaping up to be just as brilliant.
We are so proud of you, Bell!

We are so proud of our Year 10 GATE Visual Arts students! 🎨
Inspired by Australian artist Howard Arkley - known for his vibrant, bold depictions of suburban life - our GATE students created stunning collage works using photographs they captured during our city excursion in Term 1.
Using Gelli plate printmaking techniques, they built up layered textures, patterns, and colour to develop their own unique and highly individual responses to the world around them. The results are creative, expressive, and truly impressive.

Our Year 12 Psychology, Human Biology, and Science in Practice students had a fantastic day at Perth Zoo earlier this month!
Students took part in structured educational workshops and explored animal exhibits - bringing their classroom learning to life in the best way possible. For our Psychology students, the day also contributed directly to their assessment, making it both an inspiring and productive experience.
Learning looks different outside the classroom, and days like this remind us why real-world experiences matter. Well done, Year 12!
