BCC's Michelle Hubble: Why do you love this beautiful work of Early Childhood?

1. What is the best part of your day in the kindergarten?
As I do relief work, I'm not there every day, so I try to soak up all of it — lunch breaks, the walk to the buses in the afternoon, all of it. Honestly, I enjoy the whole day, whatever part I get to be part of.

2. Share a recent moment with a child that reminded you why you work at kindergarten:
I love sitting with the children at lunchtime. They open up and tell me all sorts of stories about what's going on in their little lives - it's a real privilege to be trusted with that.

3. How long have you been working in early childhood and why did you choose to work in this area?
I started at Balmoral Child Care Centre back in 2019, then moved across to Balmoral School in 2021 as Education & Kindergarten Support. I've been in the role ever since, and I love it.

4. What is your favourite meal and drink?
Spaghetti bolognese, and a coffee latte.

5. You have 5 hours to choose to do anything you wish. Go:
I'd spend it sewing and reading.

6. Any words for someone considering working in Early Childhood?
Just be yourself. Children respond to your energy and the time you give them-so bring who you really are, and let that shine through.

Our Fabulous Year 12 Students

Today we celebrated our Year 12 students on their final day of classes.

With exams still to come, they spent the day creating havoc, engaging all students, making memories and enjoying the traditional staff morning tea. It was a proud and nostalgic day for our whole school community and we wish them well for the exciting journey ahead.

Congratulations Matilda, Archie, Madie, Sammy, Rian, Mykael, Mathew and Leslie. Proud!! 💙
