Pilot Lachlan and Aircrew Officer Nathan were tasked with NSW Ambulance Critical Care Paramedic Josh and Doctor Stefanie to reach a patient following a backcountry skiing accident on the last day of winter. The medical team were winched to the southwest side of Mt Kosciuszko to a patient with arm and hip injuries sustained in a skiing accident. The patient was stabilised on the snow, before being winched to the helicopter and transported to Canberra Hospital for further treatment.

NSW Ambulance Doctor Katherine and Critical Care Paramedic David were tasked to the cliffs north of Coogee Beach recently, for a patient struck by a falling rock while belaying for a fellow climber.

The mission involved multiple stages, including winching in the doctor and paramedic, landing at Coogee rugby oval and extracting the patient before flying them to St George Hospital.

Steve M caught some closeups of Rescue 208 mid-mission in the Blue Mountains last month and it brought back some memories of his own rescue.

"I would like to take the opportunity to thank the team for all that they do. I was involved in a car accident on 10 Dec 2022 and had to be airlifted to Canberra Hospital on a Toll Ambulance Rescue Helicopter. I am forever grateful for the service you all provide."

“In a small town, you notice when the helicopter comes in, and you know it means someone is having a pretty tough day. Knowing that incredible care is coming with it is something we're very grateful for.”

Cootamundra High School Community Liaison Officer Bec was working with students in their ag plot when our aircraft landed at the hospital next door, and she sent this beautiful photo with her note.

“We also just wanted to take the opportunity to say a big thank you for everything Toll Ambulance Rescue does for small country communities like ours. I believe the helicopter has landed here twice in the past 24 hours, and having that service available when someone in our community needs urgent care means more than you probably realise.”

Our crew don't always get to hear what their arrival means to the town watching on, thanks for contacting us Bec.

Earlier this month Rescue 202 was tasked to Mona Vale for a dental emergency, the patient was unable to be awoken from anaesthetic following a tooth extraction. NSW Police Force very quickly secured the nearby sports field at Kitchener Park to facilitate a safe landing, and the NSW Ambulance medical team treated the patient before she was taken by road to Royal North Shore Hospital.
