Structure Fire – Berri

Barmera CFS responded to a house fire in Berri today, alongside crews from Monash Country Fire Service Brigade, Glossop CFS Brigade and the SA Metropolitan Fire Service Berri.

Two MFS appliances and three CFS appliances attended the incident, working together to extinguish the fire in a single-storey home.

Thanks to the combined efforts of all crews, the fire was contained and prevented from spreading to neighbouring properties.

A great example of our emergency services working together to protect the community. πŸš’

πŸ”₯ Grass Fire near Nappers Bridge πŸ”₯

At approximately 2:30pm today, Barmera CFS responded to a grass fire near Nappers Bridge, supported by crews from Monash CFS.

The fire burnt an area of approximately 10 by 20 metres, with several small spot fires also starting across the road. Crews worked quickly to contain and extinguish the fire before it could spread further.

A total of seven Barmera members and six Monash members attended, with Barmera 24P, Barmera QRV, Monash 34P and Chaffey BW13 responding.

A great combined effort by everyone involved. πŸš’

πŸ”₯ Monday Night Training πŸ”₯

On Monday night, our crew had a valuable opportunity to practise their skills while helping the local community.

Our members conducted a controlled burn-off at the Barmera Golf Club, disposing of green waste collected from the golf course and hospital sites.

Before lighting the pile, members assessed the surrounding conditions and identified the safest, most effective ignition points. They then observed the fire’s behaviour and practised firefighting techniques to keep the burn under control and ensure the area was left safe.

A great night of practical training with a positive outcome for our community. πŸš’
