π³π± Community, Environment & Teamwork
Yesterday, some of our firefighters and juniors from Bayswater Fire Brigade-CFA headed down to assist First Friends of Dandenong Creek and Knox City Council with some tree planting along Dandenong Creek. πΏ
It was fantastic to be joined by around 70 people for World Environment Day, with the team planting over 3,000 indigenous plants along the creek. π±π
We love being involved in activities within our local community and showing our support for projects that will benefit the environment for years to come. It will be exciting to visit the area in the future and see how it has grown and developed.
π A huge thank you to everyone who came along and contributed to such a worthwhile project.
Many hands make light work. π€π±

β οΈ Smoke is expected to be seen in parts of eastern Melbourne, the Dandenong Ranges and the Yarra Ranges today due to private burnβoffs and planned burns in the area.
The current warm and calm weather has made for great conditions for planned burns to be conducted by CFA and Forest Fire Management Victoria to lower fuel loads statewide and for landholders to conduct private burn-offs to prepare their properties - all to help make bushfires easier to control.
If youβre planning to burn off, make sure to register it at firepermits.vic.gov.au
