Upper Beaconsfield Community Early Learning Centre Welcome to Upper Beaconsfield Community ELC! We provide care for children from the age of six weeks, until they begin school.

Our wonderful, experienced Early Childhood Educators are committed to providing high quality care, taking pride in caring for your children in a warm, responsible and professional manner. The UBC Early Learning Centre is set in a peaceful, natural environment, surrounded by parkland and embraces the Upper Beaconsfield community atmosphere and has the capacity to care for up to 26 children. This small environment allows our Educators to guide you and your child/ren through the settling in process and will endeavour to ensure transitions are happy and secure. Parents and their child/ren are encouraged to visit the UBC Early Learning Centre for a free orientation session prior to the child’s first day to allow for settling into the new setting and environment.

🌸 Wombats Room – Springtime Fun & Learning 🌈

This week in the Wombats Room has been filled with springtime colour, creativity and wonder as we welcomed the new season!

The children enjoyed a range of experiences, including spring-themed craft, gardening in our Wombats garden and construction activities, where we worked together to create our very own “Rainbow Heart City”

We also enjoyed some Friday fun at the park, where the children took part in a spring scavenger hunt, explored the natural environment and used their muscles climbing the playground equipment and swinging under the beautiful banksia trees.

We had lots of fun with Aaron from Kinder Sports, developing our movement skills and enjoying games with the colourful rainbow parachute!

The children also explored chalk drawings of shapes and participated in eye-hand coordination activities, including bean bag toss. These experiences provided opportunities to develop coordination, balance, gross motor skills and spatial awareness while having lots of fun!

It has been a wonderful week of learning through play, creativity, movement and exploration in the Wombats Room

🌸 Kookaburras Room – Spring Arts & Crafts! 🐝

This week in the Kookaburras Room, we explored all things arts and crafts with a beautiful spring theme!

The children enjoyed creating colourful flowers using pink paint. They experimented with a variety of painting tools, including rollers with different ridges and textures, as well as sponges. It was wonderful to watch the children discover the different patterns, textures and effects they could create through their painting

We also revisited an art experience the children previously enjoyed — golf ball painting! This time, we used the experience to create some adorable little bumble bees. The children dipped golf balls into yellow and black paint and rolled them across the paper, creating their own unique bumble bee-inspired artwork.

It was a lovely week of creativity, exploration and sensory learning, with lots of opportunities for the children to experiment and express themselves through art.

🦘 Kookaburras Activities & Learning 🌈

Here’s a look at some of the wonderful experiences the Kookaburras enjoyed last week!
Father’s Day Play Dough – The children made their own play dough for Father’s Day, exploring textures while developing their creativity and fine motor skills.

R U OK? Day – We explored emotions through colouring and conversations, helping the children recognise and talk about different feelings.

Under the Sea Sensory Play – Following our reading of The Rainbow Fish, the children explored sea animals using cellophane and sand, investigating different textures and sensory experiences.

We also loved welcoming our fathers, grandfathers and special friends into the service to celebrate Father’s Day with us. It was so lovely to see the children sharing these special moments with the important people in their lives. Thank you to all our families and special guests who joined us — we love creating these memories together!

🌷 Wombats Spring Activities and Father day celebration🌷

The Wombats have been enjoying a range of fun and creative spring-themed activities this week!
The children explored fork painting to create their own colourful tulips, experimenting with paint and different ways to make flower shapes.
They also enjoyed using stamps to create different markings, patterns and pictures, supporting their creativity and fine motor skills.
Our spring colouring activity gave the children another opportunity to express their creativity while talking about the changes we see around us as we welcome the new season.
It’s been a lovely week of creating, exploring and learning together!
We also loved welcoming our fathers, grandfathers and special friends into the service to celebrate Father’s Day with us.
It was so lovely to see the children sharing this special time with the important people in their lives. Thank you to everyone who took the time to join us, enjoy some afternoon tea and celebrate together.

A LITTLE WAY TO CONNECT
Hi Families,

One of our UBCC parents has created a Facebook group for local families as a way to connect, make new friends and build some friendships within our community.

It would be lovely to see our UBCC families connect with one another, whether that’s for a playdate, a coffee, a chat or simply to get to know other families in the area.

There is absolutely no obligation to join — it’s simply an opportunity for families who would like to connect outside of the service.

If you’d like to join, you can find the group here:

Join the Facebook group

We hope this provides another little way for our UBCC community to connect and support one another.
