Two public toilet facilities in the West Tamar will be closed in the coming weeks for refurbishment works.

Works at the Middle Arm Park public toilet block at Beaconsfield will start on November 3, while works at the Brady's Lookout toilets will start two days later on November 5.

Works at both sites will include painting, the application of new surface treatment (an epoxy sealant) to cover the existing concrete flooring and the replacement of some urinals, cisterns and sinks.

Traditional concrete floors can trap odours and they can emit an unpleasant mell when they become wet.

The new flooring treatment to be applied during the works will significantly improve the amenity of these facilities.

While the Middle Arm Park toilets are closed, there are three other public sites nearby that can be used (see map 1).

During the closure at Brady's Lookout, two temporary porta-loos will be provided during the durations of the works, given the closest public toilets will be at Exeter, Gravelly Beach or on Rosevears Drive (see map 2).

Council expects the works to be completed within a two week timeframe to allow sufficient time for completion of works, and more specifically, the flooring treatment to sufficiently cure.
