The Pyrenees Shire is a small rural LGA nestled in and around the picturesque Pyrenees Ranges in Central Victoria. We acknowledge the people past and present of the Wadawurung, Dja Dja Wurrung, Eastern Maar, and Wotjobaluk tribes whose land forms the Pyrenees Shire. We pay our respect to the customs, traditions and stewardship of the land by the elders and people of these tribes on whose land we meet today. 🧶 What a wonderful afternoon of memories, laughter and reconnecting!
Former employees of the Maryborough Knitting Mills' Beaufort site gathered at the Beeripmo Centre last week to share photographs, stories and memories from their time at the mill as part of 2026 Victorian Seniors Festival.
One special moment was seeing Geraldine Smith (née Bradley) discover a photo of herself from her years working at the Beaufort mill.
A big thank you to the Beaufort Historical Society and volunteers who made the reunion possible.
📸 Did you work at the mill? The Beaufort Historical Society is still collecting photos, memorabilia and stories to help preserve this important part of Beaufort's history. Email them at [email protected]
