Beechworth Fire Brigade Beechworth Fire Brigade (CFA) is a Volunteer Fire Brigade located in North East Victoria, Australia. It was formed and called the Volunteer fire Brigade Board.

The Beechworth Fire Brigade was formed on the 20th October 1867 after a meeting at the Star Hotel in Ford Street Beechworth. The original brigade consisted of 10 paid members and 16 volunteers. Ten years later (in 1877) through lack of funds the Brigade disbanded. In 1886 because there were so many fires in the Beechworth area the insurance companies approached the council and offered to contribute towards the cost of equipment and running of a brigade. In the Summer of 1939 the state was covered with fires resulting in the state government in 1944 passing an act to form the Country Fire Authority, this was done in 1946. Our original station in Camp Street was built in 1892 was still being used up to November in 2013. Today we are now in a state of the art facility in Victoria Road which will service the growing town of Beechworth for the next 100 years. Beechworth Fire Brigade is in the North East of Victoria and part of District 24 which operates out of Wodonga around 40km from Beechworth. We have four vehicles to service the town which consist of 2 4WD Tankers an urban pumper and a Fire Equipment Service van. We also house the Indigo Field Command Vehicle at our station. Our volunteer members are trained in and attend both urban and rural incidents and fires all year round.

🔥 WELCOME TO THE BEECHWORTH FIRE BRIGADE! 🚒

Over the weekend, we had three of our new recruits successfully complete their General Firefighting Course and officially join the Beechworth Fire Brigade community! 👨‍🚒👩‍🚒

We couldn’t be more proud to welcome Samia, Donald & JJ to the brigade. They’ve put in months of training, learning new skills and preparing themselves for the challenges that come with being a firefighter — and their hard work has certainly paid off!

It’s fantastic to have another dedicated group of individuals ready to step up, serve their community and support our brigade as we head into the upcoming summer season. 💪🔥

Well done Samia, Donald & JJ! Your commitment and dedication have been outstanding, and we’re excited to have you officially on board. 👏

Welcome to the team! ❤️💛

🔥☀️ School Holidays, Warmer Days & Great Local Connections! ☀️🔥

We hope everyone is enjoying the start of the school holidays and making the most of the warmer months ahead!

A group of our Beechworth Fire Brigade members recently headed along to the annual Wooragee Fire Brigade breakfast, where local brigades from across District 24 come together for a great morning of food, training and catching up with fellow volunteers.

The Wooragee Brigade put on an amazing breakfast spread, followed by an entrapment drill to help keep our crews prepared and ready for the upcoming fire season. 🚒

A huge thank you to the Wooragee Fire Brigade for hosting such a fantastic morning. It’s always great to get together with our neighbouring brigades, share knowledge, build skills and enjoy the camaraderie that makes our local volunteer community so special.

Thanks again, Wooragee! 👏🔥

🔥🏃‍♂️ 2026 MELBOURNE STAIR CLIMB 🏃‍♀️🔥

This weekend, Flynn Ackland and Hannah Hunt represented Beechworth Fire Brigade and took on the 2026 Melbourne Stair Climb — tackling an incredible 28 floors and 448 steps! 💪🔥

Unfortunately, Josh Kardol was struck down with the flu and couldn’t take on the climb, but he still managed to make it in to collect his bib and support the team. 👏

Damian Jones couldn’t be with us in Melbourne as he was in Sydney, but that didn’t stop him! Damian completed his virtual stair climb early Saturday morning, taking on all 572 steps from afar. 💪🏠

A huge WELL DONE to all four of our firefighters for getting behind such an amazing cause! 🚒❤️

And an even bigger THANK YOU to everyone who donated and supported our team.

🎉 $1,091,753 was raised in total! 🎉

🔥 Beechworth Fire Brigade contributed an incredible $4,054! 🔥

We couldn’t have done it without your generosity and support. Thank you for getting behind our firefighters and helping us make a difference. ❤️
