Yesterday was amazing be apart of a multi-agency exercise in the mid west region.

We provided our Field Operations Vehicle for communication between the Bacchus Marsh crews.

Our friends at Victoria Police loved what we can do with our specialist vehicle

Just a reminder that the Aus Alert will be happening today at 2pm

11/07/2026

Today, the Barwon South West Regional Unit attended the District 7 CFA Expo Day to showcase our specialist Field Operations Vehicle and give everyone an insight into the important role we play when a request for our support comes through. 🚨🚒

It was a great opportunity to show off our vehicle, explain its capabilities, and share how our team supports operations in the field when called upon.

A fantastic day connecting with fellow emergency service members, sharing knowledge, and showcasing what we do best.

Proud to be part of such a dedicated team and the wider emergency services community! 🧡💙

AusAlert is being tested in Geelong, Victoria at 2:00 pm tomorrow afternoon. ⚠️

Here’s what you need to know. 👇

A test AusAlert will be sent to all compatible mobile devices in the Belmont and Highton area of City of Greater Geelong at around 2:00 pm on Thursday 18 June 2026.

If you are near the test area with a compatible mobile device, you may receive the alert. 📱

Devices may vibrate and play a siren-like warning sound for about 10 seconds. An AusAlert may appear on your device screen. It will clearly say it is a test. You don't need to do anything.

There will also be a national test on Monday 27 July 2026, at around 2:00 pm AEST. AusAlerts will be sent to all compatible mobile devices in Australia.

Ensure you can receive AusAlerts by installing the latest software update and restarting your device. Updates also fix bugs, improve performance and may boost battery life. ✅

You can find more information about what the test will look like, and how an AusAlert will appear on your device at: https://www.ausalert.gov.au/alerts-explained/community-testing

Hey all, its Mel, the Unit Controller for Barwon South West Regional Unit..

Today was one of those small but meaningful days that really fills your cup 💛🧡

As a Unit Controller, I couldn’t be prouder to see our space at VICSES Barwon South West Regional Unit come to life with our new signage and wall decals. Walking into the Geelong office and Incident Control Centre now, you can truly feel who we are and what we stand for.

These aren’t just stickers on a wall — they represent our values:
✔️ Pride in our credibility
✔️ Connection to our community
✔️ Safety in every decision
✔️ Focus and adaptability
✔️ And most importantly… that together, we are VICSES

A huge thank you to everyone involved in bringing this together. It’s a reminder that the environment we work in matters — and this one reflects the passion, professionalism, and teamwork our members bring every single day.

Proud to serve alongside such an incredible team 💙🧡
