Great work, Aaron and team, at the Bellingen Show this weekend. What a great way to represent Scouts in the local community and raise some funds to support Bellingen Scouts World Jamboree Fundraising!

Today is R U OK? Day – a National Day of Action to start a conversation with the people in your life who may be struggling.

While it’s important to have regular, meaningful conversations to build trust and normalise talking about what’s really going on, sometimes it takes that first step of reaching out to let someone know you’re there.

ruok.org.au has resources and immediate help available.

Dear Fellow Scouts,

I have received advice from Buckingham Palace to advise that following a thorough analysis of over one thousand organisations, His Majesty, King Charles III, has confirmed his delight to accept the Patronage of The Scout Association of Australia.

To this end, I am pleased to confirm that the peak award for the Venturer Scout section will be named The King’s Scout Award. Buckingham Palace has confirmed that His Majesty’s patronage would commence from the first anniversary of Their Majesties’ Coronation. Peak awards will be backdated to May 2024 and re-issued as King’s Scout Awards.

Scouts Australia is redesigning the certificate which will be available to Branches shortly.

On behalf of Scouts Australia, I have expressed our thanks and gratitude to His Majesty.

Yours in Scouting,
Brendan J Watson OAM
Chief Commissioner of Australia
