The Temple Society Australia is an independent faith community based on Jesus’ core message - to love God and to love your neighbour as yourself.

The Temple Society Australia (TSA) is an independent faith community, free of fixed statements of belief. Jesus’ core message - to love God and to love your neighbour as yourself - underpins our religious purpose and the individual’s spiritual journey, guided by their conscience. The TSA is based on shared aims and ideals, valuing compassion, cooperation and diversity. Trust, acceptance and respect are the cornerstones of our community.

In April 2024, two Australian doctors from Sydney — Dr Sanjay Adusumilli and Dr Siraj Sira — entered Gaza as part of a small group of international medical workers.

Until the Sky Falls Quiet follows their journey into a world shaped by bombardment, displacement and scarcity — and the resilience and humanity they witnessed while working in overwhelmed hospitals.

This is a deeply human story. One that explores the limits of medicine and empathy, and the impossible choices faced in a collapsing health system.

Rather than a traditional cinema release, this film is being shared through community screenings, creating space to reflect, sit with the story and connect with others.

Following the screening, stay for a Q&A and complimentary afternoon tea.

Saturday, May 16
3pm – 6pm
51 Elizabeth Street, Bayswater

🎟 Tickets from $5
✨ All proceeds support Olive Kids

Our April issue of Templer Talk is now out.

This month’s issue brings together reflections, community stories and updates from across our Templer community — including a thoughtful piece on encouragement, highlights from World Day of Prayer and a snapshot of the work underway to support care, connection and belonging.

There’s also a beautiful personal story from Eseosa, sharing her experience of home and culture in Nigeria, along with community news, upcoming services and what’s on.

Take a moment to read and catch up on what’s been happening.

🌏 Standing Together for Climate Action! 🌏

From September 14 to 24, people of all faiths across Australia are calling for urgent action on climate change.

Together, we're advocating for a bold shift away from coal and gas towards a sustainable, renewable future.

Last Sunday, Faith & Spiritual Elder Jess Blackwell led a service where we proudly unveiled our new climate action banner.

This banner represents our commitment to a sustainable future, urging leaders of both major political parties to move away from coal and gas.

Let’s unite our voices for meaningful change! 🌱

🙏 This Sunday’s Faith Service: Join Us!

We invite you to our upcoming faith service this Sunday at September 15 at 2.30pm at our Bayswater Chapel. This week, Jess Blackwell will be exploring the theme inspired by Mark 2:17: “Healthy people don’t need a doctor, sick people do. I didn’t come to invite good people to be my followers. I came to invite sinners.”

Jesus’ followers sought guidance, and in both giving and receiving guidance, we can also gain and share wisdom, sometimes passed down through generations. How can we do that for ourselves and our community? Are there ways we can learn from other cultures in an open-minded way to create a more harmonious world?

Come along, listen, and then share your thoughts over a cuppa and cake in the Hall after the service. We look forward to seeing you there!

🌟 Community Spotlight: Meet Tim Ruff, a dedicated volunteer

"Being born into the TSA community, with my parents and grandparents actively involved, my journey with TSA started from a young age. I grew up attending events like Sommerfest, Sonnwendfeier, and various services alongside my parents and sister. Now, I volunteer at these events, which allows me to contribute to this incredible community that has shaped and taught me so much throughout my life.

What I enjoy most about volunteering is the chance to connect with a diverse range of people across generations. It's a wonderful way to meet new faces, deepen my understanding of our community's rich history, and build meaningful relationships. I strongly encourage everyone, especially young people, to get involved—not just to lend a hand, but to experience the valuable interactions that come with volunteering alongside fellow Templers.

For me, volunteering is a way to give back, and I am grateful for all the connections and experiences it has brought into my life."

Tim has been assisting with Trees 2050, a new initiative aimed at establishing a TSA tree register and an online ma. He has also raised over $6,000 for WaterAid, supporting clean water projects worldwide. You can check out his fundraising efforts here: https://www.justgiving.com/page/tim-ruff-1705098509654
