Our Year 9/10 students have been busy in the kitchen this week, creating shish kebabs and mango rice.
Using a palette of flavours, exploring different cooking techniques and sharpening up their cutting skills, our students put their learning into practice to create a delicious end result. The best part? Getting to sit down and enjoy the fruits of their labour.
It’s wonderful to see our students building their confidence, developing practical life skills and getting hands-on in the kitchen.
But don't just take our word for it, read the critiques from two of our students below to hear what they thought of their culinary creations.
Mango Rice and Shish Kebabs
"The mango rice and shish kebabs brought a variety of flavours; however, some weren’t appetising. The chicken on the kebab was superb and the capsicum and onion were alright. The rice, however, as quoted by one of the students, was, ‘not good’. It was cold and a bit sour. If it had no lemon, it would’ve been better. The mango left a sweet taste bringing the overall rating of the rice up. Overall, it was 7/10, and we would recommend trying it. All students had a blast making this dish and is a good starter dish for beginners".
