Banana Shire Libraries Banana Shire Libraries and Information Services: Connecting the Community Interlibrary loans and community language resources are available on request.

The Banana Shire Library & Information Service serves an area of 28,577 sq kms operating a central library at Biloela, branch libraries at Moura, Taroom and Theodore, and a Mobile Library Service to seven townships in the Shire. Friendly staff at our libraries can assist you with your reading and information needs. There are approximately 52,000 resources including books (large print and standard), magazines, newspapers, audio books, music CDs, videos, DVDs, and graphic novels available for loan. Suggestions for purchase are encouraged for items that are current and popular. There are a range of community activities on offer for a range of ages and even a Home Library service for those unable to access the library. First 5 Forever is an initiative of the Queensland Government, coordinated by State Library of Queensland and delivered in partnership with local government. ☕📚 Good news, Biloela! Coffee is back at the library!

Our new coffee machine is up and running, serving everything from lattes to delicious hot chocolates, with all hot drinks just $2.
Whether you're catching up with friends over a game of cards, enjoying a quiet moment with a good book, or grabbing a coffee while the kids play, we'd love to see you.

Pop in, grab a cuppa, and make yourself at home! ☕✨

We currently have nesting magpies near the front car park of the Moura Museum and Library.

To make your visit a little easier, we recommend using the back car park when possible. Thanks for helping us give our feathered neighbour some space while they look after their nest! 💙

We were delighted to welcome our work experience student, Lucas, to the library for a week!

From Home Library Service visits and branch runs to craft sessions, shelving, book repairs, and everything in between, he got a behind-the-scenes look at the many hats library staff wear. Thanks for being part of the team for the week - we loved having you with us! 😊

So much fun was had during the September/October school holidays at Banana Shire Libraries!

We painted collages, made wall hangers and wind chimes, and explored the spectrum of human thoughts, feelings, and ideas through art with Vipoo Srivilasa’s Express Yourself: Art Activity Pop Up 🎨🖌️🍝

We're delighted to announce that Toddler Time is coming to Taroom Library every Thursday at 10am, starting Thursday 8th October!

Join us for a fun-filled session designed especially for toddlers and their grownups. Through singing, stories, and action rhymes, little ones can build important language, social, and pre-literacy skills while having plenty of fun along the way.

Whether you're a regular library visitor or joining us for the first time, we'd love to see you there. Come along, meet other local families, and help your child develop a lifelong love of learning and stories 📖

📚💚 Creativity, Conversation & Connection at Biloela Library 💚📚

🌸 The Connections Group has been busy coming together at Biloela Library for regular catch-ups filled with creativity, friendship, and plenty of laughter.

🧵 Recently, the group have crafted beaded horseshoe hangers, pot ornaments, and miniature succulent gardens together. Each session provides an opportunity to learn something new, share ideas, and enjoy good company.

🥰 We love being able to provide a welcoming space where locals can connect, share stories, build friendships, and enjoy trying new things together.
