Lions Club of Blackburn - Aust

Thursday night was a wet and chilly one. But that didnt stop us assisting Bunnings Nunawading at their Free Easter community evening.

Smiles everywhere with an appearance from a Giant Easter Bunny, crafts activities, face painting and music, popcorn and a raffle.

Topped off with a delicious BBQ cooked by the team from Lions Club of Nunawading
and free books handed out on behalf of 123Read2Me by Lions Club of Blackburn - Aust

Both clubs passionately work together to provide Lions Eye Health Program - Australia to the children in the community through schools and childcare centres.

This program is being offered at Bunnings Nunawading on Tuesday 14th April 2026 from 12-2pm. Check the DIY events section on Bunnings website to book a spot.

We have had a very busy and rewarding week delivering service in the community and fund raising.

We had a record breaking T&T fundraiser.

Assisted at the Umbrella Dementia Cafes in Blackburn.

Lions Biggest BBQ fundraiser at Bunnings to support Australian Lions Childhood Cancer Research Foundation - Alccrf.

Another successful day for our Children’s Vision Screening team along with Lions Club of Nunawading. This time we screened 48 delightful students from the grade one classes at Laburnum Primary School. The school provided a warm welcome and great support and we had an amazing time. We go back soon to screen preps and grade twos!

Our vision screening program has commenced for the new year. The equipment was acquired last year with the assistance of an Australian Lions Foundation grant and the Lions Club of Nunawading
We are filling our schedule for the coming year and our first session was Kerrimuir Primary School. 69 children screened.

Lions Eye Health Program - Australia

We are at Bunnings Nunawading and this is the afternoon team. The proceeds are going to a donation we have made to Lions Need for Feed Australia.

We were very pleased to hear from Graham Cockerell from the Lions Need for Feed. He spoke of the feed aid that has been given to farmers recently in Victoria. Our club presented Graham with a donation of $5000. Thank you for your great work in the disaster areas.

Here we are at Mullauna College selling Christmas trees and cakes. Come and get them. And we had some visitors in the pouring rain.

We’ve been having a lovely time this week Blackburn Square catching up with the community and selling our delicious Lions Christmas Cakes and Puddings.

Thank you to the regulars who have continued to search for us in the centre. With a new location this year, you’ll find us just in the cross between Sushi Sushi and Boost Juice. Even our amazing friends Mary and Alison from Bunnings Nunawading found us.

Plenty of time to come visit us next week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 10am and 4pm
