Thanks to the Shire of Boddington for once again inviting us to be part of Children's Week.

Children's Week - Wander the World Event 2026 was a fantastic event, enjoyed by all, and the weather was perfect.

Ros & Luke had a fantastic day and enjoyed every moment with the children.

We look forward to 2027! 🤩

We would like to extend a huge thank you to South32 for their Social Investment - Lift with Care: Safer Patient Handling for Boddington grant!

Thanks to this generous support, St John Boddington has been able to purchase an ELK lifting device, which will assist our volunteers in safely raising patients from the floor when they are unable to get up independently.

This equipment is a valuable addition to our patient care resources, helping to improve safety for both our patients and our volunteers while allowing us to provide the best possible care to our community. The ELK has been ordered and is expected to arrive at our sub-centre in the very near future.

We are incredibly grateful to South32 for investing in the safety, wellbeing and capabilities of our volunteer crew. Your support makes a real difference to the people of Boddington and the surrounding community.

🌾 International Day of Rural Women | 15 October 🌾
Today, we celebrate the incredible women who make our rural communities what they are.
The women who work, raise families, run businesses, care for others, volunteer, support their neighbours and quietly step up whenever their community needs them.
In a small town like Boddo, we know that community spirit is everything. It’s found in the women who lend a helping hand, show up during the tough times, care for those around them and give so much of themselves without ever asking for recognition.
Today, we’re proud to celebrate the rural women in our community, including the amazing women who serve alongside us at St John Boddington.
To all the women who help keep our rural communities strong, caring and connected, thank you!
Happy International Day of Rural Women! 🌻

Tuesday nights training, delivered by our awesome community paramedic Nicola, and EMT Lauren, had us getting up close and personal with a range of subjects, including CPR, Childbirth, and the one we remembered to get photos of, Infection Control.
We brushed up on all things PPE, hand hygiene, contamination, and keeping ourselves, our patients and our crew as safe as possible from the nasties that like to hitch a ride.

A huge thank you to St John WA - Mount Magnet for your generous donation of an oxygen bag to our sub-centre for training.
We appreciate having equipment like this available to us, as it means our volunteers can train with the equipment we rely on in a real emergency, helping build confidence, familiarity and practical skills.
We truly value the generosity and support shown by your Sub Centre. ❤️

Sending our thoughts and best wishes to the Community Paramedic injured in the Wheatbelt today, and to the fellow first responders who attended.

Our thoughts are also with their family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time.

From all of us at St John Boddington, we wish you a speedy recovery. ❤️

We owe a huge thank you to our incredible local community for making our R U OK? Day Breakfast a huge success 😊
We couldn't have fed everyone without the immense generosity of our local businesses. A special shoutout to:
🥖 Boddington Bakehouse for donating the fresh bread rolls
🥓 Boddington IGA for providing the delicious bacon
🥚 The chook farmers of St John Boddo for their home grown eggs 🙌

We also owe a giant thank you to our amazing kitchen crew, Eugene (who even brought a bbq!) and Ros, who volunteered their time and burger skills early this morning to cook up a storm, and Bodd SES who seated us 😁
Also a big shout out is due to to Nicola and Vicky, who organised the whole event!

It has been a big era for the people, and first responders, of Boddington. Recent history has seen near disaster, personal tragedy, resilience and incredible community spirit throughout the town and its neighbours.
For the guys and girls at St John Boddington, its an honour for our crews to show up for the community during their hardest or scariest moments.
We know that behind the scenes, this work can be confronting, and so its also our honour to show up for each other.
Today is R U OK? Day, but any day is a good day to share a conversation, and genuinely ask how your mates are travelling. It’s a gentle reminder that even the strongest people need a safe space to talk. Let’s look out for our friends, loved ones, community, and our frontliners 💚🩵🤎❤️🤍

Supporting Our Community Through First Aid Training

St John Boddington recently had the pleasure of providing Essential First Aid Training to some of our hardworking and valued community members.

It was fantastic to be able to provide this important service and to hear such wonderful feedback from those who took part. We’re so pleased to support our community with skills and knowledge that can make a real difference when it matters most. 🩹🚑

A big thank you to the Newmont Boddington Community Assistance Program for their generous support in making this training possible.

We’re proud to be working together to help build a safer, stronger and more prepared community!
