The beautiful front doors of Burnima Homestead 🫶🏻

One of the details we love most about the entrance is the stunning stained leadlight glass in the sidelight windows. We took inspiration from these beautiful heritage details when designing the Historic Burnima Estate logo, creating a little piece of the homestead’s history to carry through our branding. 🤍

And then there’s the front door key… equally impressive in its own right! 🔑 It’s absolutely enormous and a beautiful reminder of a time when even the smallest details were made to last.

A little piece of history that we feel so privileged to care for.

Who doesn’t love a blast from the past? 🚂✨

A wonderful old photograph of the train departing Bombala, capturing a special piece of our town’s history.

The dedicated volunteers Friends of Bombala Railway Inc. do a fantastic job maintaining the historic station and surrounding grounds, preserving this special part of our local heritage for visitors to enjoy.

If you’re visiting Bombala, be sure to stop by, wander around the old station and explore a little piece of our railway history. ❤️

🏡🌿 Help us give our little piece of Burnima history a glow up!

This cottage was built around the 1920s to house the caretakers of Historic Burnima Estate , after the original building sadly burned down. Over time, it has lost much of its character, and we dream of bringing it back to life.

Matt and I are a husband-and-wife team, both working full-time while running a B&B in the former servants’ hall. Every dollar we earn goes straight back into restoring Burnima. ❤️

Our dream is to welcome more guests, host community and charity events, and preserve this special place for future generations. We feel incredibly lucky to be its custodians, but there is still so much work to do.

✨ Winning a James Hardie AU cladding makeover would be an enormous step forward! It would help us create beautiful cottage accommodation, generate much-needed restoration funds and bring more life back to Burnima.
