🌟 PEAC Success! 🌟

Congratulations to Zeke, whose team placed second out of 24 teams at the Scitech Challenge Day on Tuesday! 👏

Zeke regularly attends Primary Extension and Challenge (PEAC) sessions at Manjimup Primary School alongside other identified students from across the Warren Blackwood area. The program provides opportunities for students to extend their learning and develop their critical and creative thinking skills.

Working with his four-student PEAC team, Zeke participated in a series of energy-focused challenges, putting their teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test.

What a fantastic achievement—well done to Zeke and his teammates! 🧠⚡

🎸 BPS Rock Bands Ready to Perform! 🥁

Bridgetown Primary School’s Year 5 and Year 6 rock bands have been practising weekly, developing their musical skills, teamwork and confidence as performers.

Our rock band program provides valuable extension opportunities for musically talented students, helping them build on their strengths and experience the excitement of performing for an audience.

Come along and support our young musicians at their upcoming performances:

🎶 BPS Assembly: Thursday 12 November at 2 pm
🎶 Saturday at Blues: 11 am on the Solar Stage, located outside the Blue Owls Nest, at the back of Memorial Park.

🧮 Mathademic Success! 🧮

Bridgetown Primary School proudly entered two teams in each of the Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 divisions of the Mathademic competition.

Congratulations to all students selected to represent BPS and for their commitment to practising before the event. This was a wonderful opportunity to put their mathematical thinking, problem-solving and teamwork skills into action!

Our Year 3/4 teams placed 4th and 8th, while our Year 5/6 teams achieved 2nd and 4th. A special congratulations to Zeke, Maxwell and Reed, who secured 2nd place! 👏

A big thank you to Teegan and Reef Nattrass for transporting a group of students and helping make this opportunity possible.

Well done to all our BPS mathematicians—we are proud of your efforts! 🌟

🐄🎨 Farmyard fun at Pre-Kindy!

Our little learners enjoyed reading Mrs Wishy-Washy’s Farm before bringing the story to life with some messy play! They used toy farm animals to create colourful footprint paintings, exploring the different tracks each animal made. Then, just like Mrs Wishy-Washy, it was time to scrub the animals clean! 🫧

These playful activities help children develop language, creativity and fine motor skills while making connections between stories and hands-on learning.

There’s always something fun to discover at Bridgetown Primary School’s Pre-Kindy program!

🎲 Maths Games Afternoon at BPS! 🎲

On Tuesday 22 September, our Pre-primary to Year 6 students came together in their factions to learn four new maths games: Shut the Box, Wipeout, Top Dog and Total Recall.

We were thrilled to welcome so many parents and grandparents to join in the fun! Students played in pairs and small groups, practising their maths skills while learning together.

Mathematics is a priority at BPS, with a strong focus on developing students’ confidence, understanding and fluency. Games provide a fun and engaging way to practise number facts, explore strategies and become more accurate and efficient with calculations. Explaining their thinking and learning from others also helps students strengthen their mathematical understanding.

These games can be played at home too! A few minutes of regular practice is a wonderful way for families to support maths learning and enjoy time together.

Thank you to Mrs Sherwell and Mrs Hodgkinson for organising this fantastic event. All families were also presented with a maths pack which included the playing instructions for the maths games and a pack of playing cards and dice. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the afternoon such a success! We hope you have continued to enjoy the maths games at home too. 💛

🌟 Spellademic Success! 🌟

Last term, on Tuesday 22 September, 12 students proudly represented Bridgetown Primary School in the Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 Spellademic contests.

Congratulations to Cameron, Rachel and Lucien, who placed second in the Year 3/4 contest and Charlotte, Hazel and D'Arcy who came fifth.
Congratulations to Indi, Ari and Mia, who placed third in the Year 5/6 contes and Gabriel, Maxwell and Zeke who placed 7th! 👏

At BPS, we provide a wide range of opportunities for students to explore their interests, develop their talents and challenge themselves. From academic competitions and public speaking to robotics, sport and the arts, these experiences help students build confidence, work together and celebrate their achievements.

We are proud of all our representatives for their hard work, teamwork and enthusiasm.

A huge thank you to the parents who transported their children and stayed to watch and support our teams. Your help made this opportunity possible!

Ahoy, Mateys! Bright Beginnings Pirate Adventure 🗺️

Our Bright Beginnings Pre-Kindy children had a swashbuckling time dressing up as pirates and setting off on an exciting treasure hunt!

The little pirates followed clues, explored their surroundings and worked together to discover the hidden treasure. It was a wonderful morning filled with imagination, adventure, laughter and learning through play.

Thank you to all the families who joined in the fun and helped make our pirate adventure so special! ☠️⚓️💰

Families with children who are eligible for Kindy next year are welcome to attend our pre kindy program, which is every second Wednesday from 9 to 10:30am. Please contact the BPS front office for further information.
