That’s a wrap on week 1! What a fantastic start to Term 4 here at Bridport Primary. It’s been wonderful to see our students settle back into their routines so quickly after the break. We were welcomed by a taste of Summer this week, and it’s been great to see a sea of hats in the playground, thank you to all our families for helping us stay sun smart.

We are thrilled to announce that our Primary playground has received an upgrade. Our new climbing frame is now ready for our Grade 3-6 students to enjoy. We would like to extend a massive thank you to everyone who made this possible: the Bridport Primary School Association, Bridport Lions Club, Tasmanian Lions Foundation, Dorset Transport, Matthew Bayles, Dean Hughes, and Beau Shea.

It’s been a jampacked first week, and we’ve all enjoyed easing into what promises to be a busy and exciting term. We look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday refreshed and ready for more learning.

250 Nights of Home Reading

We love acknowledging the hard work our students put into their literacy journey.
To celebrate the milestone of 250 nights of home reading, we gift each of those students a book of their choice. Today, we are proud to honour our first students to reach this special achievement.

Congratulations!

🏏 LET’S KEEP CRICKET ALIVE IN THE NORTH EAST! 🏏

We’re calling on all junior cricketers in Grades 3–6, with capable Grade 2 students also welcome, to get involved in junior cricket this season!

Boys and girls of all experience levels are welcome! Whether you’re an experienced player or keen to give cricket a go for the very first time, we’d love to have you involved.

Our junior competition is a fantastic opportunity for kids to develop their skills, make new friends, build confidence and enjoy being part of a team. But to keep our competition strong and growing, we need more junior players to sign up!

📣 PLEASE REGISTER ASAP!

Early registrations are essential so we can finalise teams and organise the season’s roster.

đź”— Register here: https://www.playhq.com/cricket-australia/register/9f9e9b

📍 Friday night cricket will be played across Scottsdale, Bridport and George Town.

🙌 Interested in coaching? We’d love to hear from anyone willing to help out with a team. You don’t need to be a cricket expert to make a difference — enthusiastic volunteers are vital to keeping junior cricket thriving in our region.

Pre-Kinder @ BPS has begun this term. This week, we participated in a variety of activities designed to help develop skills in name recognition.

Families can help children with this by labelling household items such as bedrooms, coat hooks and toy containers. Write the child’s name in bold and colourful letters and point out the name tags. Photos of the child can be added above or below their name tags. Remember to model the correct use of upper-case and lower-case letters, using a capital only for the first letter.

EDIT: Updated to include Grade 5/6A & 5/6B Sharing Assembly

Welcome to Week 1 of Term 4!
We’re looking forward to a busy and productive term ahead, though we’re easing into things with a gentle start this week.

Just a few quick reminders to keep us on track:
Please ensure students bring a packed lunch for the remainder of this week, as the hot lunch program will resume in Week 2.

As the weather warms up, please also remember to send a water bottle with your child each day.

Also, a friendly reminder that our Sun Safe Policy is back in effect; students are required to wear a navy bucket hat while outdoors. These are available for purchase at the school office if you need a replacement.

Let’s make it a great term!
