Bayside Libraries Welcome to our Libraries: Beaumaris, Brighton, Hampton and Sandringham. Discover, imagine, create, learn and connect. Membership is free.

Bayside Libraries is made up of four separate locations that share a collection. Beaumaris, Brighton, Hampton and Sandringham branches are able to transfer items to each other in order to make it easier for our community to access the items they wish to borrow. Reservations are free and so are our wireless hotspots and computer access!

Exciting changes are coming to Brighton Library! 📚

Supported by a $1 million Victorian Government Living Libraries Infrastructure Program grant, announced by Member for Southern Metropolitan Region Ryan Batchelor MP, the upgrade will make Bayside’s busiest library more comfortable, sustainable, accessible and welcoming while respecting the building’s heritage.

Plans include improved heating and cooling, a re-vamped front entrance and courtyard, a more inviting and accessible children’s area, and a dedicated maker space for creative programs.

Work is expected to begin in early 2027, helping this much-loved community hub continue to support readers, families, students and lifelong learners for years to come.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us on our recent Citizen Science Walk. 🌳

With the sun shining, Dr Rob Saunders led our group through an engaging session exploring our local nature reserves. ☀️

Guests enjoyed a beautiful, guided nature walk through Long Hollow Heathland. 🚶‍♂️

Thank you to Librarian Louise for hosting the event and for leading our wonderful Citizen Science program for adults. ☺️

Getting ready for exams?

Brighton Library has a fantastic collection of VCE study guides to help students prepare with confidence.

There are 66 titles in the collection, and with demand growing, we’ll be adding even more next year.

Explore guides across science and maths, English and humanities, plus specialist subjects including food studies, media, legal studies, physical education and psychology.

Titles include complete course notes and topic tests.

We loved welcoming three wonderful authors to our libraries recently.

Guests enjoyed hearing Riley James in conversation with Geoff Parkes at Sandringham, while Laraine Stephens spoke to a full house at Beaumaris.

Riley shared insights into her exciting new title, “The Wreck”, while Laraine’s new title, “The Bathing Box Murders”, has sparked plenty of interest.
