a. b.
The 20th Regiment, Royal Regiment of Australian Artillery (20 Regt, RAA) is an Australian Army unit which was raised in 2006.
20 Regt is based at Gallipoli Barracks in Enoggera, Queensland. The Regiment is responsible for providing the Australian Army with artillery spotting and tactical reconnaissance. The Regiment forms a significant element of the entire intelligence, surveillance, and reconna
issance (ISR) collection capability available within the deployed forces. The balanced sensor mix and the multiple ranges (close, medium and long range) of surveillance and target acquisition (STA) assets enable the unit to support many of the supported formations information needs. The unit provides the necessary command nodes as well as communication systems and logistics capability to support planning and management of the STA assets. Additionally, staff support from the unit is provided to support the ISR planning process, battle space de-confliction and ISR collection management and ex*****on. Members of the unit have recently served on operational deployments in East Timor, Solomon Islands, Iraq and Afghanistan. This is the official Australian Army page, therefore, it is essential that a suitable standard of conversation is maintained at all times (that is, no material is to be provided that could offend, humiliate or intimidate another person or, if disclosed, has the potential to affect national security or damage the reputation of the Army, ADF, Navy, Royal Australian Air Force, Department of Defence or the government). Congratulations to one of our own, SGT Neil Mackay who provided an article recently to The Cove.
The article discusses the importance of integrating UAS into Army doctrine.
“In the end, it is not the machine that will determine victory but the mindset of the soldier behind it.”
